Backpack or Suitcase with wheels for S.E.A?
Which is better for travelling in South East Asia? I recently went travelling around Europe with a backpack but found that it wasnt really needed and was a real pain with the weight. Is a backpack practically needed?
Please help! Thanks in advance!

not really needed, but in situations where's there a lot of stairs you'll be glad you have one. It's just more mobile.
I just hate carrying stuff with my arms.

For me, There is no other way to travel. If your pack is to heavy, maybe you should reconsider some of what you pack.

I take my backpack everywhere - domestic holidays, international adventures, work trips, weekends away. I don't even own a suitcase anymore. I find backpacks to be way more convenient then a suitcase.

Pack light, and backpack all the way. Especially if you intend to do things like hiking...I would not have wanted to drag my suitcase for kilometers through the jungle!

backpack!!! I am morally opposed to suitcases with wheels
plus a of really cool places do not have smooth floors
and if you ever wake up next to something to regret it will pay for itself as you sneak out holding your clothes in one hand and your shoes in the other
or as climb out the window
a properly packed and worn back pack will not be a burden

I got a nice 4 piece set of luggage for my hs graduation from a great aunt (sweet, I know, you don't have to tell me lol). I honestly use it to move and/or store stuff. or if I am going out of town for the weekend and i know I am packing a lot, I use them, but backpack all the way

I am not sure there is a smooth surface in all of Asia. A pack is like the
Hummer of luggage - it goes everywhere and anywhere. Bring the pack, you won't regret it (just try wheeling a bag down a sidewalk in Bangkok - it is likely to get swallowed by a sinkhole, run over by a tuk-tuk or stolen by a lady-boy).

Take a backpack. I traveled with suitcases before and backpacks are way better.
