Default Hypothetical Scenario: Border Crossings

I've been wondering about this for a while and curious as to what would happen.

Say you left country A, being stamped out and as such voiding your single entry visa. You then tried to enter country B and for some reason were denied entry. What the hell would you do stuck in no-mans land? Has this ever happened to anyone?

My guess is that the country you have left would have take you for the time you get to another country, contact your embassy, and that you'd have to pay them for a whole new visa or a fine.

But that's just a guess.

Taxing my memory, I think this happened to friends of mine, trying to get into Bulgaria or somewhere equally unlikely. If I recall correctly, they had to wait at the border until they sorted out their documentation - ah, no, I remember it was a passport issue - they couldn't travel on an official passport (go figure). Anyway, they waited at the border until they sorted out the situation and in the end didn't enter the country they'd hoped to visit - just had to get a new visa to stay in the country they expected to leave.

Worst case, you'll be stuck at the border until you make contact with your embassy and they tell you how to fix the situation. Consider it another adventure.
