Hey everyone!
I am soon to be heading on a 4 month solo trip through much of Europe, leaving from Canada. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what is the best and cheapest way fro me to keep in contact with people at home. Specifically i was wondering if buying a cell phone as soon as i arrived in London and then using phone cards from that point on would be a good idea? Can a phone bought in london be used all over europe? Coming from canada where our technology isnt exactly up to date with the rest of the world, i have no clue...any help and or suggestions would be awesome!!!

for like 30 dollars you can get one from virgin mobile.... i got one and you can put as much money on it as you want and it's not bad on the rates... or if you've got an unlocked tri band you can just get a sim card and go that way.... tri band phones are your best bet. they work just about everywhere. hope that helps...

I am a technology junky but I backpacked Europe without a single piece of it, save my camera. I used email and calling cards on my trip. Not saying that this was the best way but just letting you know that I spent 2 months without missing my cell or laptop.
