Hi Can any one give me any tips on gettin started i jst wanna travel but i got no idea were to start, how much do i need jst to get off?is it possible to take any thing more than a backpack? help!

Well to get started you have already made a great move, by coming here and hang'n with peps who wanna make sure your trip goes off without a hitch.

First you have to pick where you wanna go:
Europe East or West
Asia
North America
Australia
Africa
MIddle East
South America

I have a feeling you already know where you wanna go...

You have to start your saving of $$$, and depending on where your going, will depend of what you will need to bring.

Western Europe is more expencive than Eastern Europe I would say a rough estimate of 500$ for everyweek your there, that is hostels, some sights, cheap food, and maybe one night of drinking. ( not including transport)
For everything you do the cost will go up.

I am not sure if you mean can you use a suitcase to trek about, but if thats what you mean, then yes it is possible, but I would not recommend it. The last thing you want is to be dragging a wheeled suitcase through downtown Rome in the rain trying to find a place to stay. A suitcase is good if your taking a cab everywhere, know where you going to be staying EVERY night.

A pack is made to be easy to carry, comforatble, carry so pretty good weight, packs these days are pretty sweet, i use mine even when I could use a suitcase. Here is a sanario:
You just checked out of your hostel, you taking the train to Paris, but on the way you find a small town that you wanna stop and check out. A pack you just sling over you shoulder and go, a suitcase you would not be able to pull it off and enjoy yourself at the same time.
