In the span of 24 hours, i took the ferry from France to England ( 156km), boarded a flight from London to Toronto(5728 km), then From Toronto to Ciego de Avila Cuba( approx.2500 km).

Needless to say by the time I had gotten to my end destination i was wiped, and was K.O'd for almost 3 days. No Energy, Tired, Grumpy ect....

I was suffering from jey lag and exhaustion in the worst way. The only thing I could do was get the rest that I needed, I slept for many hours. To get out of my slump i ate lots of fruit and natural sugar foods, went for walks to keep my energy level up and tried to stay around people to keep me occupied. I new that i would be tired after making my way through 4 countires in different parts of the world.

HEre are some ways you can deal with your Jet Lag

I always found that one way to minimize jet lag is do NOT take a "nap" when you arrive at your destiniation. Do your best to drudge through the day and go to bed at a normal (or maybe a tad early) hour. Then, when I wake up the next morning, I'm fine.

You'll have to fight this the most on the U.S. to Europe flights where you leave in the evening and arrive in the morning, not so fresh and ready to begin your first day of sightseeing. It helps if you don't schedule sedentary things like museums on day one...do walks, stay outside where the fresh air will help keep you awake.

I am not the greatest on sleeping on planes, but if you can get even a bit, it helps. Take earplugs and one of those banditto masks to put over your eyes. You'd be amazed out how they help block out that your sitting uncomfortably amongst hundreds people.

Oh, and I've read that it is best to stay away from alcohol and caffeine while inflight. However, I've found one or two glasses of wine after they serve dinner on the flight can put me out...no getting hammered, though!

Best thing I find to deal with the sleep/time schedual problem is too simply arrive at your destination, get a huge honkin bowl of fruit and vegitables, and sit your ass down infront of a playstation x-box or anything like that, that helps you pass hours on end without noticing. play play and paly some more, I usualy do that for a day or 2 straight and by one point your so tired you fall asleep whenever, and then just hit the hay at the regular evening sleep time, SET AN ALARM!!!! dont sleep for 12 hours or else, sleep 8 wake in the morning still tired as hell and then play some more and hit the hay in the evening again. I find this gets you set in the sleep cycle in 2 days tops and by day 3 your good too go, its a bit of a grind being awake for a whole night and day but its really helpful.
