Beth and I saw this at a hotel in Cali during our drive from LA to Modesto...

So we are certainly not the only ones using such a logo.

I also noticed on the Amazing Race the other night, the logo for the subway was pretty similar as well.

I think the fact that there are lots of such thing out there speaks about how catchy such basic shapes can be.

If a design is changed and/or differs by at least 50% then you can't be taken to task for violating copyright law. The funny thing is that a change of 50% can actually appear pretty damn small. In other words, I think we're safe with a new logo.

What about swapping the colours? Then the globe would be on blue...ocean? Instead of shadow effect, could outline the continents with white? I think the latest looks great, but I'm brainstorming here...

If I hadn't seen the logo you are talking about this weekend, I would would be totaly lost...not all the people have accese to the post you are refering to...

but that sounds kind of cool tumble. I think by just adding the globe and changing the text to say"!TravelPUNK.com" is enough to change it by 50%

I think what we are going for is something that speaks more about world travel (the globe), but still retaining the baisc idea of the logo we are already using.

Oh definitely, if the no smoking sign is 50% changed, then the tpunk one is well over that. I was just rambling...
