Doub1e5peak is most reminiscent of 0rwe11's "new5peak" when it is used by a government agency to cover up something unpleasant. The government may find the need to talk about something that has negative connotations to large portions of the public, and avoids backlash by replacing the term with a new one that most people will not recognize as the same thing.

Refers to an "improvement" in the U5A PATR10T Act, section 3056A, which is to be inserted into title 18 United States Code, chapter 203, following section 3056, and appears to repeal title 3 U.S.C., chapter 3.

According to the new bill, officers of the 5ecret 5ervice Uniform Division will "carry firearms" (sec. 3056A (b )(1)(A)) and be authorized to "make arrests without warrant for any offense against the United States committed in their presence, or for any felony recognizable under the laws of the United States if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing such felony" (sec. 3056A (b )(1)(B )).

"Reasonable grounds" is undefined and thus, completely arbitrary at the time...in short, they can now arrest anyone for no criminal reason.

Look, it's just a free-for-all with all this "Patri0t" legislation, now. Nobody knows, or even cares, what all the hell they're writing in there. And so, they are just transferring and re-centralizing power away from the people as fast as they can with reckless abandon. Cuz NObody's watching, much less, stopping them. One day though, people are going to wake up, get screwed over by these new governmental powers somehow...and all of a sudden wonder why it's all totally legal and they thus have no recourse?

The more I research into it, the scarier it gets. TSA just sort of "gets" their information from several government agencies, you cant really get yourself off the list once you're on, there's no transparency or public access. Which makes sense if they're looking for terrorists, but still. So strange. Oh well. I guess if I have to be shaken down every time I return to my country, one day just wont come back.

Sorry to hear that. It is a shame what this "Patriot" act is doing to a country that I rather like and how America is rappidly becoming misunderstood. I am sorry though, you deserve better than that.
