My Awakening
So . . . six months ago while in the doctor's office I just wanted them to fix my knees, I didn't care about anything else. Well, the doctor insisted on the usual checkup crap, blood tests, etc. I came back anemic. I didn't feel anemic, and didn't really care too much if I was, so I continued on taking a daily vitamin with iron and called it good. I did have more blood drawn for further tests, but didn't bother going back to check on it.
Well, a week ago I went back for the knees again, and the doctor insisted that I don't leave until I get a B12 shot. Turns out I'm VERY B12 deficient, in fact so deficient that most people with my level of deficiency are very depressed, even suicidal, very foggy and just mentally slow, bad memory, very anemic, very limited physical ability, etc. B12 plays a big role in maintaining the protective layer around nerves . . . so yeah, big problems when that's not so good. So anyways . . . I've been getting these shots daily for the last week and holy poop do I feel good! And I didn't even know I had a problem!
I feel sharper in school, better in daily conversations . . . I could go on and on. But what was my point . . . well, I guess I just wanted to share my great news. But also, maybe get a blood test if you're not feeling like a million bucks!

Wow buddy thats amazing that you didn't know you had a problem, great that you've found out about it and got it sorted now!!
Its always a good idea to get things checked out if your not feeling too flash, just to make sure its nothing too serious, if for no other reason than to stop you stressing about it subconsciously!
Props for getting things sorted, sounds like its time for a !

they accuse us cyclist and other athletes of having higher dophamine levels and being a little less prone to depression, so that may have been part of the reason you didnt know you had a problem.
glad to hear you are doing better. it is amazing how much the little things can make a difference.

supposively the regular vitamin tablets are almost worthless, probably because if you're B12 deficient your body's having trouble absorbing it through your digestive system, so a pill's gonna have the same problem. But you can get sublingual versions, disolve under the tongue, and these are supposed to work pretty well because they go directly into your blood stream.

I am a B Vitamin junkie. I take a B complex everyday, plus I drink Vitamin Water which has B vitamins in it. I started this about 5 years ago when I was working 2 jobs and going to school and always on the go. It definitely helped to keep me able to focus on things and such.
My B complex, my multi-vitamin (w/ iron), and my calcium, magnesium, zinc pill.
Vitamins can help a lot. Good job man.
