I just checked him into his room not 5 minutes ago here at the hotel. He's a nice guy.
Um, that would be the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s son.

So, does he go by Jr. Jr...or Jr. II?
Also, MLK Jr's actual first name was Michael, not Martin. Interesting trivia fo' y'all...

I've heard about that, but I've always heard it as his father changedh is name cuase he read some book about Martin Luther, so legally changed both their names... Do you know if it was legal or not? Cause if it wasn't... That would be quite interesting...

^ Well, by all accounts, "Michael" is what is on his birth certificate and what he was called until adulthood. His dad was also really "Michael" as well - and didn't ceremoniously "change" his name to "Martin" until 1935. Slowly after which, he instructed his congregation to refer to both him and his son as "Michael."
Their names never were legally changed, however.
So, I guess technically, we should really be celebrating Michael Luther King Jr Day and driving down Michael Luther King Blvds...
But not sure how big a deal it really is, though. I mean, Malcolm X's last name wasn't really "X," either, lol. Nor "Muhammad Ali," etc...and nobody really seems to give a damn.

Yeah, I think he kinda did, but it's not like he'd walk down the street and you'd say "Oh my god! That guy has GOT to be MLK's son!!" He was with 4 or 5 other people and when someone said that he was on his way into the hotel, I was able to pick him out of the crowd fairly easily but other than that he was just a very nice man in an ordinary way.
