I'm writing a book!
So I might be a little delusional but after 2 years of deliberation, I've begun writing my memoirs. Kind of funny for a girl not quite 24 years old, right? I though so too. My friends always tell me I have the best stories and everyone's always like "you should totally write a book" because I always have the most absurd stories.
Well my friend Jamie turned me onto Chelsea Handler and I just read "Are You There Vodka, It's Me, Chelsea" and while I laughed through the whole thing, I realized that Chelsea Handler has nothing on me!
I have all sorts of stories from like when I was 8 and wrote the writers of "Days of Our Lives" suggesting that I be cast as Shawn D's girlfriend when he was of age for a gf to the absolute present like how my family might be on Dr. Phil (I shit you not... my fucking mom WROTE Dr. Phil and the producer of the damn show CALLED HER last Friday...)... Plus Celine Dion would get her own chapter with all the crazy there (plus what's about to come in September)... the list goes on and on. Once a wild turkey flew through my windshield. Plus there's all my war stories (LOL).
I'm doing research by reading all sorts of funny memoirs and having my friends compile by best stories. I am fortunate that one of my sorority sisters who lives in NYC has a job with a publishing company. I'm sure once I do it and throw it together, they'll think it's total crap, but she has contacts. I'll send it to everyone. Someone will think it's funny!
So that's my big news of the moment. heh.

awesome, sounds like you've got a lot of material to work with. If you're looking for some good memoirs to read for research, I really like David Sedaris. Also, David Egger's "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" is amazing.

I actually own that book, and I too agree, very good.
I love that the preface is like 100 pages long. LOL.

I assume Cameron Crowe has a book, that would be a good one to check out too.
