Default Gingerbread Fred

Hi everyone,

My sister-in-law asked me to post this and see if I can get my friends from around the country and world to respond to my nephew's "Ginger Bread Fred" project.

Here's her e-mail...

Hello Everyone.

I am contacting you on behalf of Vinny. His Kindergarten class just read the story of Gingerbread Fred. Fred is a take off on the classic Gingerbread Boy story, but in this tale, the Gingerbread Boy runs out of the book and tours the world.

The Kindergarten teachers have requested that Fred send postcards, letters, or even souvenirs from the places he visits. These notes will incorporated through the curriculum for the next 6 weeks or so.

What we would like is for you (or any friends that you want to share this
with) to simply send a postcard or write a quick letter describing your city
and send it to:

Vinny Demana
c/o Ms. Wilson's Class
Shayne Elementary
6217 Nolensville Rd
Nashville, TN 37211

This is a really popular (and cool) idea. My sis-in-law is a teach and last summer when we were in Scandinavia she was getting souvenirs and photos for other teachers in her school.

I'll be sure to send something along from South Africa when I'm there in (!) 4 weeks.

Hopefully programs like this will be inspiring the next generation of Tpunks!

Ohhhh I heard of something similar called "Flat Stanley" where you take him all over the world and snap pictures.

Anyway, I'm not traveling anywhere in the next 6 weeks, going to NYC in about 7 weeks, too bad this isn't going on the whole rest of the school year!

Should I sign the card Gingerbread Fred?

I really hate having terrible hand writing at times like this.

I will send something from where I live, We have a nice ski-hill in COllingwood, Ontario and also, I will send a postcard from the radio station I work at. I will say that we interviewed Gingerbread Fred on the radio all about his travels!

Yeah, the way it was described to me was that you write it as Gingerbread Fred and tell the kids where you are and what you've been doing, about the place, and so on...

Thanks, folks!
