The most powerful physics experiment ever built, the LHC will re-create the conditions just after the Big Bang.
Isn't anyone else worried that this could go seriously wrong?

Nah...The type of safety precautions they take are incredible. For example, synchrotron radiation facilities have existed for several decades and are all around the world, and there's never been someone who has received a lethal dose of radiation from them. For example, the synchrotron here in Canada generates such radiation that if it were released, you would need to be 3 times the distance of here to the moon to be "safe" and not at risk...and it's nowhere near the strongest one.

Funny you should mention the LHC. There's a band from Austin, TX called the Phenomenauts and one of their members is leaving the band to go work at the LHC. Just got an email from them the other day haha.

Yeah. This super collider will possibly provide us with the full explanation of gravity and take us one step closer to the GUT (Grand Unifying Theory) of Quantum Physics and Relativity. This was originally started in Texas, but since our country decided to stop fucking funding science like it should, it had to be moved to Switzerland and theres now just a huge fucking hole in Texas.

Either that or it'll create a 50ft staypuft man, giant ants or open up a doorway to another dimension with scary fog in it.

Why? A world ruled by giant staypuft man can't be any worse than he way things are now.
