The adventures continue!
It's now been 9 months since I returned from my two year backpacking adventure and I've finally made my decision for where to go next. I'm going to take my full years holiday entitlement in one go to spend the month of April in... Colombia!
This will be my first ever trip to anywhere in the Americas. I really want to do the 6 day trek to Ciudad Perdida, and if I can stretch the budget a few days scuba diving in San Andres looks to die for. Apart from that does anyone have some suggestions? I want a few days of partying, and a trip to some remote town, although I need to get cracking on learning a bit of Spanish!

Ah, that's a shame. Do you know whereabouts you're going?
I've now done a lot more research and come up with the following itinerary (which actually excludes my original two ideas, but that's the way things go). I'll be landing in Bogota, then will head to San Gil for some Paragliding and day hikes, Santa Marta as a gateway to Taganga (where I can scuba dive instead) and the beaches in Tayrona National Park, Cartagena, Medallin, Cali, then back to Bogota for my flight home.
Hopefully that'll be doable at a reasonably relaxed pace in 4 weeks.

ha....ha...ha...plans?! Me? I don't leave for another 2 1/2 weeks! Which means I likely wont plan anything until about mmm 2 weeks from now...lol
We're not going to be there too long so not entirely sure what's do-able yet, but we're flying in and out of Bogota and my colombian friend told me the best beaches are @ cartagena and the best city to live in is medallin. So probably something along those lines? I'm going to talk to my friend who just got back from 3 months down there this weekend though and I'm sure he'll have some good ideas as well.

oh you must do ciudad perdida. It was one of my highlights. However you can do it in five days for sure. Nobody I knew did it in six days. Make sure you bring your water purification pills I also enjoyed San Gil. Rafting there was awesome.

A family Safari is a great way for children to discover the true nature, and see their amazing animals already know, in real life. From the beginning, this is a different experience - you will hear the animal, you will see them in their natural habitat.
