Oia (town) in Santorini, Greece---the most beautiful sunset in the world, a place that makes an atheist like me think there might be a God

What so no one recomends Australia then?
Mates... If you want to travel to a country where things are cheap, people are nice, food is the best in the world, the grog second to none then Australia has to be the place.
Can anyone agree with me, of those that have travelled down under?

Another deserted thread coming back to life !
Hard to answer such question having visited what ? 12-14 countries from three continents only, but from my limited experience, I'd go for Berlin, Kathmandu, and Romania for a long term stay and Australia or Québec to live.
But the best place is always with the people you love, whereever you are.

Tokyo!!
anyone who has been will agree that it holds an amazing aura of commotion and tranquility.
And the beautiful coastal cities of California...where else is it a perfect 75 (24C) most days of the year?

mmm... No one mentioned Brazil! City wise... Sao Paulo. If i were to ever live in Brazil, I would live there (living in the suburbs my whole life has made me a city-fanatic). Salvador is also v. v. historic and the people there are great (if you go to Salvador, try acaraje... heaven on earth)
And sadly, whenever someone goes to brazil, they usually only go to Rio, Fortaleza, or Sao Paulo. I hardly ever see people who say they've gone to the INTERIOR of Brazil which is sooooo much better. the border between Bahia (my dads home state) and Minas Gerais (my mom home state) is this little tiny tiny town... i cant remember the name. It's where my dad was born and its right in between this mountain chain.
I went there with my dad sister and uncle at night, so we didnt see anything. but when i woke up in the morning i felt like crying because the house we were staying at was literally on the side of a huge hill with all these horses and cows and it was sooooo beautiful... esp. during the sun rise. and when we rode to the top of the hill... wow. it was the best part of the trip.
And Ouro Preto (black gold). its a great day trip from Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais) and its filled with beautiful architecture and loads of history. its in between these two mountains, and its all cobblestone, so, learn from my mistake, wear nices sneakers *stares at scar on heel... from a blister that was attained almost a year ago*
ive never been there but my aunt lives in Lisboa and she always sends me pictures... wow. i gasp just looking at PICTURES.
