Default What inspires you?

It can be touching song lyrics, an intense sunset, or the way a mother watches over her child from afar.

Today I was inspired by an elderly couple walking hand in hand down the sidewalk...really...really...slowly. Their steps were in unison.

When is the last time you were inspired?

Awww that is sweet

Music inspires me. And travel books. And art and photography. My friends. Movies sometimes too. I always think that music and a good book will solve anything...

Everyday I look for things to smile about. So I look like a psychopath walking around smiling to myself!
When you notice things other people don't it feels like a special little secret you can hug into yourself. Anything that makes me see the beauty of the world. Right now the water from the canal outside my house is reflecting onto a building, gentle white dapples that contrast with the stretch of blue sky behind.
The winter is over! Not just in a literal way for me...

I love being outdoors and going for walks or just sitting and watching the trees move in the wind or the rain fall etc. The beauty of the world inspires me. I'm also a people watcher too, so I tend to find little things people do inspiring (or at least funny as hell hahaha). But music and books can really inspire me to. Anything that stimulates me to get me thinking and motivated really.

I'd have to say nature is a big one for me too. Reflections in puddles, the texture of mud and sand, the wind in my hair, the snow falling and sparkling in the night...especially while I'm flying downhill on a bike and over the river with sunlight sparkling off the water...perfection. :D

Listening to people's life stories inspires me too - so many people you'd think of as "ordinary" have really amazing things to say.

Black and white photography. Desaturation of the world into simple elegance.

Listening to music in the dark with my headphones on and eyes closed.

fear of wondering what might have been.

i tend to regret the things i didnt do alot more than the things i have done.

so it inspires me to try harder and try to achieve my goals, so i never have to wonder "what if"

  • people around me who not only cope but excell despite shit in their past or obstacles in their future.
  • new opportunities.
  • people who really try to better themselves.

Nature most definitely. The most serene sunset, the loudest, roughest thunderstorm at see, standing atop a mountain and the wind cutting through you, the swoosh of my skis cutting through a steep run, it's all money.

A good book that completely envelops you to the point of where you can't put it down.

Food that takes on a life of its own. Food so good that even if you've had it before, its like tasting it all over for the first time.

I like fishing, too. Its a good metaphor in general.

books (novels, non-fiction, poetry)

natural wonders (ex. Irish cliffs, watching the sun rise on the east coast of canada, when there's literally nothing but water in front of you for thousands of kilometres)

dawn or dusk in cities - i don't know what it is, but i love the way the sunlight reflects off of a city when it's low in the sky

hangin out - just hangin' out
