I was taking a international budget travel class this semester in college, and the guy that taught it reccommended travelpunk.com. I'm definetly glad he told us about it, it's been a HUUUUUGE help in planning my trip. I also agree that we've got the most active message board going. I've been reccomending the site to just about anyone!

I found TP in the midst of researching my upcoming trip to Oz. It may have been on the BUG site, as another poster mentioned. Glad I found it...a wealth of information and great interaction with other peeps on many subjects........and not just travel

I was looking for information on study abroad in Italy... googling anything and everything that I thought might possibly...maybe... be related. I think I was searching budget travel at the time. I hate secrets, so I had to see what was in the members only section. Then I got hooked by the slightly off key humor, and realization that with very little more I could end up as addicted to travelling as everyone else here...but I would need to know how to do it on a budget.

It also makes travelling alone seem like a much more realistic thing, which I really like.

I found this site along with Eurotrip.com and BUGeurope.com last fall when I decided I was going to take a trip this summer. I think I just typed "backpack europe" into Yahoo. This site's hostel search engine really impressed me.

yeah, i think i just typed "student travel" or "backpacking" or something into google...and voila! it certainly has been a great help...now, I can't even imagine what it would be like going overseas without the wealth of information available and all the things I have learned on here!

Sumbled upon a link for TP.com one night when i was still debating weather grabbing a backpack and going to Europe was either feesable and or economical. After about an hour of reading posts I had made up my mind. I can honestly say Travel Punk Played the major role in my desicion to go on this trip....about 2 months and counting.....It's kinda' funny. 2 months from my two month trip!

You guys are going to think I'm a freak, but here it goes.

I was on yahoo and was bored so I was like hmmm 'There's gotta be a guy out there exactly like me - hmmmm'. So I'm type in 'travel punk music soulmate' or something to that extent and up came tp. I was all excited b/c when I went to Europe I was looking for something exactly like this but of course never came across it til now. Oh well, If I had I would of been addicted for a year now.

So now everyone knows the stupid moron I am.
