Ok, so it started snowing in the night...I woke up this morning, all stressed up because I had a final exam in Neurology at 12h30, and I was far from ready for it...So I started studying in a frenzy.

It was still snowing pretty heavily, and all shcools were closed, exept for our University...I kept calling my mom for updates to see if they decided to close it, but they didn't. So my friend calls and she asks me I can pick her up, because she sees a guy in her paking lot that's stuck in the snow with his pick-up and she drives a Geo Metro! Hahah! So I check my driveway, and there is snow all over, knee deep!!!!! There's no way I can get out of there with my car, and I don't even have a shovel...I call mom to ask her for a ride, coz she has a Jeep...So I'm not ready at all for my damn exam, and then the damn University decides the roads are too dangerous (heeeellooooo!!! A few major roads are aready closed and there are accidents everywhere, blackouts everywhere, and the bank cards don't work!!!!) and closes the school for the afternoon!

Youpppiiii! That means I don't have my exam today, and it gives me more time to study for it, and also for my other exams on wednesday and friday! It's still snowing like crazy, and we should get another 30 cm of snow!!! I love winter!

That sounds like a lot of fun. We got barely a half inch here, and it's already mostly gone. I'm gonna move up north where they real snow..

You know, it's getting deeper each hour...I can't see outside because it's snowing too heavily...All the neighbours keep shoveling but it's useless, they should wait until it's over! My car is almost burried, I'll have to borrow a shovel hehehe!

Best time for a nap...Awww yes! Tonite I'll go play in the snow with my dog. It's good because my friend and I plan to go cross-country skiing during the holidays...I also want to try skijoring with my dog...She will love it!

I'll survive, I have a few beers in the fridge...

Last Monday, we got 50cm. Our exams were cancelled for the day and finally the one exam I had that day was cancelled completely. Since it was cancelled, everyone had to meet the teacher to proove we actually did the homeworks we gave back by ourselves.
I met the teacher this morning... in a storm again. Two Mondays in a row for a planned total of 110cm... yucky. But I'm so happy that I'm on vacation now whoo

I can't imagine how cool it would be to have snow falling around my house. Snow ball fights and all that jazz. Hopefully I will live where is snows at some point in my life.

Although I much prefer heat to cold. :D

You don't even know! I retrieved my car from the snow to be able to get out tomorrow with my safety shovel I keep in the trunk, then made a snow angel and laid on my back in the soft snow....I just love winter! I wish I was still a kid, building a snow fort with my bro, and go back inside and have a hot chocolat and warm my feet and hands by the fire like we used to do!!!

Snowstorms always make me feel like a kid again! :D

And it's not that cold when it's snowing...The coldest days are when it's sunny!

Driving in the snow is fun when you own a 4X4...And I love making controlled slides when turning....Hehehh!

ahhh.. you don't need a 4x4. Just have to know how to drive your car. I've ventured to the great north many a time in tempos and 2x4 pick up trucks. I will say, I prefer it farther north where they get way more snow, becuase the people there don't care they still drive the same. Down here, you get just a glazing of snow and everyone suddenly thinks its a good idea to constantly brake. Want to drive a little slower, find, but no need to break constantly, that is only going to cause sliding and accidents.

I hate winter for the sole reason of having to drive around people. Last winter I had a 30 minute drive to work, and we had a decent snow for us, about 5" or so. And everyone on the expressway was driving about 20. Ridiculous, I had to blaze my own trail in the left lane doing 70. Me and an F250 were the only ones in the left lane. My buddy thought I was crazy, never, my little Kia Rio can handle it. It had better, I didn't spend $13k for it to be a sissy car. :P

I love making controlled slides all down the road. I tried to teach my mother how to control a slide once, she got freaked out and thought I was going to hit something. Amateurs.

Yeah, I drive an Echo...But out here, when there is a snowstorm, you can't drive unless you have a 4X4 because your small car gets stuck in too much snow...I always end up helping people that get stuck near my house, coz I'm a professional 'destucker' heheh! I once helped a guy, his sissy gf was sitting in the car while we pushed it and I was shoveling around his wheels! Man! He had been working for like 15 minutes, I could see him through the window...I got him going in 2 minutes....heheehhh! Talk about loosing face in front of your gf! B)

The worst I had it was the one year up in Houghton we got a good foot or so of snow over night and I had to have my buddy sit on the hood of my car to get better traction. :D I've had great fun getting people unstuck. Although my ultimate winter job seems to be having to give people a 'jump' because their cars won't start. :P

Snow ? What's that ?

I always get jealous when people talk about snow - i love skiing, but the first time i've been in 15 years was 2 years ago

I'm sooo looking forward to next year - i'm hoping to go skiing somewhere with 2km+ long downhill runs (the ones i've been to are all 100m - 200m long).

Currently its 34 C outside (about 93 F). Airconditioning is nice.

Hey Moc!

I get paid to play in the snow when it happens here at the airport! Shoveling out beltloaders when they get stuck up next to the plane, putting down salt to melt a path for the pilots to go to Operations (so they don't slip, fall, and force us to cancel the flight!), all kinds of stuff you would think was cool.

I can tell Sijuki is from the Midwest...same things I bitch about -- other people panicking when it snows...

I live about 3-4 hours north of you in good ol' Detroit. Most of the people here are terrible enough when the weather is perfect. I'm gonna have to move somewhere where its really warm or really cold. :D

But alas, our snow is all gone. It melted this morning.

ewwwwwwww see that's why I could only live in Vancouver. Thank goodness it hasn't snowed here yet. Nada nothing. We just get lots of rain. Though today is nice n sunny. Honestly i hate snow so much. I don't want to wake up each morning having to shovel snow. Snow belongs in the mountains. I can see the mountains from where i live and yup the snow has indeed stayed up there.

Dio,
Are you sure you are Canadien? I thought Canadiens loved snow, I thought that was like one of their favorite pasttimes. Couldn't wait for the snow and ice, so they could get their groove on with the hockey and curling. :D How else are you supposed to keep you Labatt's and Molson cold without sticking it in the snow? :P

I love Houghton, they get a good 6-7' on the ground every year. It's so nice.

I'm about the only person I know personally who likes snow. Aww and it's melting!! Even up on sunburn too this is such a tragedy.
AHHH it's FRIDAY! No more school! Damn I coulda gone boarding (for real) today. Mmmeh.
The Okanagan Valley is a desert, really. Not like what you think of when you think desert...dessert...desert?, of course, but it is. Two honkin' mountain ranges at either end stopping all the wind and rain. We get nothing. It's boring. Rain is a treat. Everybody takes notice when it rains. It's something you go to your window and watch for a few minutes, like fireworks.
But I see where your coming from Dio. I hate shoveling snow, even though compared to some Carrs Landing driveways ours isn't that bad, if you go side to side. It can all get gross and wet after a while.
