Yeah the Hungarian ones were a bit wierd so i went through and carefully selected the people who i would like to have contact with or similar interests etc...I really like Germany so thought this would be a good option as well

I'm still writing my nepalese penpal I met through Goethe Institute, in 2003. I've also met with him in Nepal and lived in his brother's house for a few months. Both were neighbours so we got to spend a lot of time together. My penpal and his son's picture, his home.

Hey, they are really awesome photos!
I have had a couple of 'post one or two' letter style penpals But the ones I have written to most and have received letters from (even if it is only 1 letter every 1/2 months) is one from Canada, and one from America.
I am speaking to someone else from America who I am getting on well with who I may swap addresses with soon.

That is awesome that you have been speaking to your friend for so long also.

Seems like a very good frequency to me, once every 2 weeks. I guess my penpal and I started off so, but it is now more like a message every 2 months. It is mostly my fault though, because time and energy are lacking on my part

When I wrote my ad, I received dozens of responses, from which I kept a good 15 pals, mostly Germans. However, with the time and the evolution in my personal life, I had to let go of them, and only kept my Nepali friend.

I aslo met another penpal from Vietnam when I was there, but that was catastrophic. We ended all contacts!
