So after lots of peer pressure and ridicule about being the only person in Vancouver who doesn't snowboard I've finally got my shit together. I went out the other night and dropped a few bills and got everything I need to finally fit in as a "West Coast Snowboarder"

In no time I'll be flying around the mountains of BC, with a joint in one hand (just kidding) and Starbucks in the other (not kidding).

I've snowboarded before, maybe about 5 years ago...but a good buddy of mine is an all-star and will be showing me the ropes...or trying to kill me.

I'm going up this weekend and will probably pick up a cheap camera, so I'll try to post some pictures soon...mostly just to make everyone back east jealous when they see what a real mountain looks like

I've gotten about half of my stuff together and as soon as these damn holiday parties ( ) are done with, I'm going! Alas, I need those damn holiday parties to finance the rest of my gear/etc.

I had my appendix taken out a few years ago so I've got a wicked gash from that...funny...thats also one of my pick up lines. It works really well b/c I always end up with my pants off.

I'm just kidding...there's no way I'm smooth enough to pull that off

Wow, I guess I never really took advantage of all the benefits an appendix scar could have!! I'll have to work that into my pick up lines sometime.

Have fun in the snow Pin...it's a little bit of a daredevil sport for me to attempt, but you enjoy yourself!

Snowboarding f'in rawks!!

I hated it for years, and then after one magical lesson a couple of years ago,it all clicked and now I teach struggling beginners just for fun... It's the one thing I've looked forward to after coming home from the nice, warm sun - SNOW!!!

Dude, when you get back you'll have to to make a trip to the PNW. We'll go tear up some mountains.

I'll extend the same offer to Tpunks that I did last winter..

Anyone who wants to ride Tahoe is welcome to come to SF and hitch a ride up there with me. And if you wanna learn snowboarding, take a basic beginner's class and I can teach you everything from there on up Well not everything, but you'll be doin' alright!

Only difference this season is that our snow probably won't be as good, whereas the PNW is getting a kick-ass season. Hrmph!

Haha Yeah right Pinion! You know that I'm the ONLY person in Vancouver that doesn't snowboard or heck i don't even ski. I'm not a big fan of snow. Can't believe that you bought all the snowboarding gear. So expensive! Mr. bling bling. Holla..

(actually I might be heading up to one of the local ski hills in a couple weeks. I get to go for free sooooo I may forgo my hatred of snow for an afternoon..) :

So today was my first day out boarding. Its awesome!! I probably spent a little more time on my ass then I'd like, but I still had a blast. Apparently I'm catching on pretty quick, so its all good!!

Here's the mountain I was at. One of Vancouver's local mountains...

FYI, right now our local mountains have more snow then Whistler

I hear where you're coming from I have to hear from all my friends how I'm the only person in colorado who has never even tried skiing or snowboarding. I might go Tuesday with some friends because finals will be over, I have the day off work and, frankly, I have nothing better to do.

Looks like I'll be riding at Whistler for NYE... or at least, spending a bit of time teaching someone how to ride. See y'all Canuckleheads there!
