Question for the Guys(and gals too) - TravelPUNK Backpacker College Student Budget Travel Message Boards!

So, I am watching the movie Dodgeball last night. There is a scene where Vince Vaugn goes over to the female lead's house for the first time. She is really hot - (I can't remember the actresses name).

Anyway - he walks in and her entire apartment is taken up with unicorn mementos, statues, pictures, furniture, glasses, etc, etc, etc. Pretty freaky.

So...my ultimate question is...how many (or how severe) types of weirdness or psychotic "potential" would you put up with, at least initially, if the girl in question was really, really attractive? Give examples.

Would a major Unicorn fetish exhibited by an otherwise normal seeming 25 year old hottie send you packing immediately?? I am torn on this one.........

Christine Taylor was the actress you were referring to and she is married to none other than Ben Stiller. To answer your question though, it doesn't matter what a girl looks like. If she's psycho, then forget it. I haven't dated any and hopefully I never will.

Everyone has their hang ups that others would view as "weird"

I think it goes hand in hand with the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" saying. A girl may come off as a crazy to one guy but completely normal to another...

Every situation is different right?

All right well I was all set to decorate my new room with this shiny and beautiful unicorn wallpaper...I had a matching boarder also featuring the mythical creature.

I guess I will have to re-think my interior living plans...

yeah I have to admit I'd be more worried if the guy had a doll collection or something. Other than sports memorbilia I don't know many guys who have collections.. and I LOVE the sports ones.

I think there's a third thing to factor in here and that's how good the person is in the sack.

That's far more important to me any day as opposed to the hotness quotient.

Even with that considered it wouldn't be long for me to hit the road after figuring out the dude is either a.) a jerk or 2.) insane. (And by that I mean the type of insanity that I'm not willing to put up with, because god knows there are plenty that I will!

the psychotic factor must balance very delicately between funny and scary. This is the key point. Girls (and I am sure guys too) can handle themselves differently. Being different or weird is one of those things that separate us from 'the pack'. One persons psychotic factor may be one of those things that makes them 'hotter'. As I have always said, someones physical beauty is often times mentally altered by their personality.

For lack of thinking of anything better, for instance take the Olsen twins... they are for the most part very similar looking. But why would one guy pick Ashley over Mary Kate or vice versa?

But anyways, back to psychotic... I know many girls that are way to psycho. They obsess over things and it freaks me out and makes me think that one day their delicate balance of some outrageous situation is going to snap and so is their sanity and they will drive a knife through my heart, or worse yet go 'Bobbitt" on me. I don't need such worries, so I steer clear of anyone that has a bit too much psychotic tendency.

For instance, Space Virgin, is pretty psychotic. But she can bring the humor along with it. While some people are left with mouths wide open unsure of whether they should run away quickly or curl up in the fetal position, she has the ability to make things funny for those that are able to stay on course. So while I am unsure of her unicorn collection, although she is the one to mention the phallic obsession, she would probably give fair warning before going "Bobbitt".

...and with all the nothing that i said, I will be done for a moment. I would like to thank Space Virgin and the Olsen twins for being examples in my female psychosis theory.

It weren't me who brung up the whole unicorn/phallic thing-a-ma-bob-- that was Jamie, dude.

(For the record I do not now, nor have I ever had a unicorn or any other type of "collection".

] My psychosis is my own, thank you very much, and has nothing to do with any other female stereotypes.

But yeah, you've got one thing right-- if I were to ever go "Bobbit" on someone, I'd give fair warning.

strangly enough, i kinda like the more psycotic a hot girl is.....i know it will f me over in the end....but i just end up chasing after the nutballs....it just keeps things interesting

so needless to say im single and frustrated, and yes, chasing after a pretty crazy hot girl right now

What I really want to know is...do you turn around and walk away from the hot chick with the Unicorns or not? I want to know what you would do first time you go to her place...not what happens down the road....if there is a "down the road"

Because I am often a dumbass.......I probably would not take-off right away and would wait out the situation to identify any other traits of psychosis or see if this is just a strange but isolated phenomenon, but that is me.

As far as the unicorn fetish chick.. this is about how it would go...

walking up to her apartment discussing such great things like travel, poker, and our good taste in music. She unlocks her door and swings it open, we step in and she turns on the light. The room is bathed with bright light which reveals to the unsuspecting eye an array of unicorn paraphanalia. Unicorn figurines, pictures, a unicorn lamp, unicorns on the wall, a unicorn derby horse, and even a unicorn shaped chair. The converstaion was suddenly sidetracked at the exact time as the lights were turned on. I walk in jaw somewhat gaping open, and I walk over and pick up one of her unicorn figurines, and comment, "Sooooo... you like unicorns huh?" She begins to blabber pointless whatnot about how she has always loved unicorns and stuff, and I just casually set the unicorn figurine down and say, "You know, I got to get up early for work tomorrow I should get going." Gradually make my way for the door and once I close it behind myself run like the bejezus out of that place. Cause any girls that obsesses that much will be sitting at your desk at work at 12:31 wondering why you are late from lunch. And if I want to be late from lunch, I will be damnit, without my girl tracking me down. Forget that.

For the record, I am obsessed with nothing. I like things, and those things are kept in moderation, because moderation is what keeps balance in the world.
