Well i crashed my car today so i'm feeling like shite, it's gonna cost at least £700 to fix so my trip to oz is out the window, i'm ok but i'm a bit depressed, about the car but also about other stuff.......anyway i thought i'd vent to you guys cos i feel like shite and i needed a sholder to cry on

keep your head up........cant you put your trip on your credit cards...........and just pay and pay when you get back.
i think we all crashed our cars.........last time i crashed my car it was completely totaled. hope it turns out good in the end

That sucks, it seems like there's a bit of bad luck going around with Tpunkers and their cars. The hippies where right, they only hold youu back.

Is there no way atall you can salvage the trip?

Wow. That's terrible. I'm with everyone in saying glad your ok. I know what it fells like to plan and plan, and then nothing. Atleast now you have some more time to save money, so that you might not need a loan after all.

Have you considered insurance fraud??

I'm really sorry - that sucks. Glad that you seem okay though. Maybe you'll get a stroke of luck and will happen into some money.

Awww, that sucks!!

So sorry to hear about your car. Can you just dump it for a motorbike? (As I suggested in the other car-preventing-travel thread...)

I've just come into a massive amount of dental work and I'm not sure how much of it will be covered by insurance - that's why I went ahead and booked my Oz trip - so it's already committed before I get my first dentist's bill. Sometimes denial's the only way to get stuff done!

Maybe your trip just wasn't meant to be at this point? Maybe this will make it so when you go back there will be the person of your dreams sitting right next to you on the flight?

Maybe in the next trip you'll meet cooler people and have an even better time?

Ok maybe I'm stretching it a little bit but you know the point I'm making. You'll definately be able to go back. Shite happens I guess. Anyways good luck.

My car needs major work. But I have been putting off this trip FAR too long. So I said fuckit to the car and I am going on my trip anyways!

Everyone involved is ok but i don't want to think about how if i was a couple of feet away i would have hit the other persons driver door, it wouldn't have been pretty, i'm still pretty shaken by it all.

i still have until April to go to oz, so hopefully i will make it, but it seems like a sign that i wasn't meant to go.

This wasn't a sign you shouldn't go...it was just a curveball that life occasionally throws you to make sure you can handle disaster and setback...especially when you're traveling.

Xanthous i was planning on going in sept for 3 months and being back for christmas, but if i can pay off fixing the car and wait until when my visa is about to expire, which is april then i've been thinking i might go for the whole year, so there could and i mean could be a sliver linning to all this. But i still haven't found out how much it is going to cost to fix the car so i'll see then

Kels, so is the visa you have a work visa? So what's the deal with that, how would you stay for a year if it expires in April?

Ah yes xanthous, i got the working holiday visa (whv) for oz in April, you have a year from when you get it to use it, then you have a year from the date you enter the country. But if i don't go to oz within a year from when i got issued a whv then i will not get another one and i will have wasted the opportunity of a lifetime, which is something that i will not do because i never want to look back on my life and regret something as big as that because there are enought shit situations in life that we can't change but will still make us look back thinking "what if, or if only...." This is a situation i control so i will either go to oz and use the visa but if i don't then it will be for reasons that where beond my control, so i can't have regrets

I want to live my life so that when i'm older i can look back on my life and have no regrets,
