I have no idea what my fasination is with tall buildings...The view, the arcitecture, the wonder how something so tall does not fall down....
I have been to the Tallest building in the world, because its here in Toronto... http://www.itcwebdesigns.com/cn_tower.jpg But I have been to a few other tall structures, including Eiffel Tower, Paris Empire State Bulding, New York City Rialto Tower, Melbourne Center Point Tower, Sydney Anyone else enjoy seeing a city scape from high atop a building??? :spidy: |

Free Standing Structure, or Building...Still Bloody Tall
CN Tower = 181 storeys, 553.33m The Taipei 101 = 101-storey 508m :spidy: |
bahahhaha..finally cd was wrong sucka.. :)
I haven't really been in any high towers..Been in the tallest tower in vancouver (harbour centre) and the eiffel tower, but that's about it. When I go to New zeland I'm gonna bungee jump off this The Nevis That's the plan...now let's see if I actually do it |

But personally you wont find me near either of them. I might do one one day, but they are not really my cup of tea. -TC- |
Dio I would not say I was wrong, I should be more specific when I pick a topic to post on...and use proper terms...
Building or Free Standing Stucture? In the everyday world, there is no difference, people pass a Building and look up, and say "man thats a tall building", When people walk by a Free Standing Structure and look up they say " man thats a tall building". So Cross is right, But I would not say I am wrong... First day back and already busting my balls, Dio!!! Here is a quote from the The Gunness Book Of World Records to back my claim: Quote:

4 me its the sears tower; i have vertigo soooo i dont ever look 4 high buildings. thats the last on my list.........but i went to the sears tower with some friends( ya, we skipped outta school and headed to chicago ) the first time without any of our parents in a beat up $500 car :nono: lol -----never a good idea.
we took the elevator to the top and look down......i got so dizzy my head crashed into the glass  well i new i was safe up there so i didnt worry about it. but looking down my stomach was completely bottomed out-----------just like in a rollar coaster.........really i can climb anything ---------as long as i dont look down--------then im finished :crap: |
Good going, guys! Thanks to your research, now we are all educated in what the tallest buildings and free structures are B) !
I got that kind of phobia that tells me to go right back down, as soon as I reach the top of a tall structure, building or what not  . Tey're too high, man! They're just too high :crybaby: |
I got that problem too... :chef:
I used to have nightmares where I was just too high and freaked out, waking up screaming! When I was about 5, my mom took me in a Big Wheel (We call this like that in french, I don't know if it's right in english), and I was crying and screaming so loud that they had to stop the thing to let me out! Hahahah! :o We were too high and it was going too slowly...If it goes really fast, like a rollar coaster, I never get enough of it! As long as I don't have the time to look down, coz it makes me dizzy... |
moc- it's called a ferris wheel, just so ya know. -_-
|
Ok, Thanks, I'll remember!!!!
|
How high have I been?
 would I remember? |
I was waiting for you to post that TUI!!!!

Of course, me, Mr. Asia-san, -_- lately, has to post and say he's been up in the Petronas towers in Kuala Laumpur, Malaysia. Which by the way, are REALLY bumming, as they are about to be replaced as the TUI-est, I mean highest, building in the world.
The coolest part about them was when that silly Sean Connery movie came out where he's a jewel thief running around those towers came out. I could tell everyone, "Hey! I've been there!" Actually, come to think of it, that's another cool topic. What was your best, "HEY! I've been there!" moment? Mine was when I was watching a Travel Channel show on Malaysia, and they did a thing on this one traveler who was staying at the Coliseum Restaurant and Hotel in KL. Well, they showed her in the bar having a beer, and damned if she wasn't sitting right next to the seat I sat in while at the Coliseum Bar. I was pointing to the person I was watching it with, saying, "HEY!" worldwidemike |

At the beginning of the Tomb Raider II movie, there is a wedding on Santorini Island, In Ia...Exactly where I was sitting to wait for the sunset! I wanted to stand up in the theatre, and scream: I was there LAST WEEK!!!! :stoked:
|
haha hilarious stories..
small world eh. Moc- I know what you mean, whenever I'm watching a travelling show or what not and they are visiting places that I've been I get giddy and yell for my mom to come into the living room, call my dad etc.. "I was there mom", " I was leaning against that pole", "I took a shit in that alleyway!"...oh not exactly :D But when they had a special on oban, scotland..they showed the whiskey distillery and I was like "I pee'd on that brick wall!!!!!" Never felt so proud in my entire life! |
