Ok Kids,
Jake wants a djembe bad. I always have wanted one. I had one in my hands in brasil and decided not to buy the beautiful 'ting cause I didn't want to carry it around. Now I am totally regretting it.
So does anyone have one? If so, from where? Do you like it? What would you change about it, etc etc etc.
next time I travel the caribbean I'll be jammin...

We have one. We bought it at a flee market from a Nigerian dude. It's actually pretty high quality. I can't really play it cuz I have no skills. Jake used to drum and he likes it. Don't really think anything should be changed about it. It sounds nice, is easy to hold/use and if you know how to drum on the thing, well, it's just damn cool. He has these ankle straps he got from a friend that have bells on them so you can stomp along with your feet. Pretty cool shit. B)

I know they have some nice ones at the vendor booths at Bonnaroo.
You should join the B-roo meetup and come!

I'm sure they sell them on eBay - then you can make up some fab story about where you " really" got it.

Where did you buy it? Lets hear a crazy story about making it in the jungle after you weree stranded when your skif went down. And you were forced to live with a lost tribe.

a friend of mine used to make them.
I like them but I've been exposed to too many obnoxious drum circles to be able to have one.

I got two of them and I must say they are awesome and I drive the neighbors nuts with them.... It is great cause we've these asian neighbors that are big into kareoke and they turn the bass up to high and through the wall it sounds like whales underwater. So I get the drums out and fight the power man....
