Ok kids (copyright-JakethePunk)
I have a BA in Behavioral Science(psych and sociology mixed together) and I am currently a bartender.
Who else out there is in a job that has absolutely NOTHING to do with their educational background???

Dude.
I employ soooo many psych majors and massage therapists that it's not even funny, lol. Also several biology majors. I don't know what it is.
Hell, I could be making a shit ton of money as a rider / trainer and possibly even make a bid for the olympics if I moved to the east coast and could spend a hundred grand on a horse to get me started.

Degree in actuarial (insurance) guff.
Job in actuarial (insurance) guff.
I'm one of the rare breed that wasn't completely put off by their degree at uni.
Would have done history at uni if I thought I would get a job with it.

Future Job Hopes: Wandering traveler (IE work as I go as long as its not the USA) or a real career OUTSIDE the USA. I will most likely get an MBA in Germany and go from there...

i should be finished with my BA in history by fall of 2006. and what shall i do with it? go to work as an academic advisor at the college i already work for. liberal arts majors don't do shit for anything that resembles an actual job in a related field. i'm thinking hard about getting an MLS, but am detered by the fact that i'd make more money as an academic advisor with a BA than as a reference librarian with a graduate degree. if i didn't have The Kid i'd plant myself way down south in louisiana and do cultural studies.

Degree: None.. I have a Diploma. Was going for Computer Science, then switched to Business Admin, and then couldn't afford it. Plus college was hella boring.
Job: Currently Retired by force. Last job i had a good chance of getting i was told I was overqualified. Otherwise i get told I was too late and positions were already filled. The job market here sucks. Looking to get into something that will get me close to a casino/card room. Also pay me enough money to be able to sit in said card room.

This is why I waited to go to college. I'm about half way through my Psych undergrad. I'm taking time off to travel but will eventually finish. I fully intend on going to grad school to become a psychologist. If I would have gone to college right away, I'd probably have gotten a degree in art. Sure, college would have been fun but working at McD's afterwards wouldn't have.
