hey all,
i have been trying to think of some other names that backpackers are reffered to as
e.g
hiker
traveller
travelling nomad
anything that you have heard, or made up

TRAVELLER is the one I prefer...and I try to make a distinction between traveller and tourist...although, I imagine, most of that is simply point of view.

"Lucky bastard" is what I often hear.. 'course, it has nothing to do with luck but more with just focusing on doing what I like best! So maybe the best term would be Doer. After all, us travelin' folk are NOT content to sit on our asses. Unless there's a pub nearby...

Never a truer word hath been said my friend. People are always asking me how I got so lucky or if I make a ton of money. I always tell them that you just have to suck it up and do it! It's really not that hard. Live with the shitty car for another year, live at home for another year, whatever you have to do. for most people, if you just go out drinking once a week instead of twice a week that can get you somewhere.
