So I sent some photos into SuicideGirls just to see if I could make it and well I did. Through the first part of the application that is. I have to have a set done before it's final. For those of you who don't know what SuicideGirls check out the site: www.suicidegirls.com. I've always wanted to be one but I'm not so sure about it...I mean its the internet...yea. But either way I get paid $300 for every set published on the site along with my own page that can be seen by 15,000 daily. I'm into photography so that would be nice and the extra cash is nice. What do you guys think?

go for it...it's a fairly known group...i've heard of it/them, but i'm not entirly sure what its all about...but hey, what i hear about modeling, do it while you can, age is a son of a bitch.

One thing that I've heard about suicide girls is that they are very good about letting the model decide how she wants to be portrayed, which is really good.

That is a really great question. Or if your future kids/husband/boss saw it?

Also find out who gets ownership of pictures and negatives and such. You should know this in case they go out of buisness or get sold or whatever. What are your rights, their rights and the photographers rights, that kind of thing. Or what if you do a few sets and decided you don't to continue, or want your pictures shown?

oh, and congrats for getting accepted, whether you go ahead with it or not.

I'm gonna be the prude and say no. Just cause that is my personal belief.

But as the others have said it is your life, and you must look at all the angles before deciding something such as that. While this world is very sex driven and everything is business, for all we know this could lead your life down some whole different avenue. But just think about it before deciding anything concrete.

hm. I guess if you can decide how you'd like to be protrayed then go for it. So many naked chicks.. Dunno if that would be for me.. I mean, as much as I enjoy nudity, not so much on the net...

Im that one annoying person who put "i dont know" haha. how indecsive of me. Before now I had never seen suicidegirls and was very interested when I checked it out. I guess it all comes down to you. Its your body, its your art, as long as youre doing it for the right reasons nobody should be able to talk you down. I hope the money is just a perk but if not I would think about it harder. What I saw was art and some beautiful ladies posing in tasteful fashion. As long as you represent yourself through your art then it is always beautiful. But by now you probable have made a decision. do we get to find out which advice you went with? -kyle B)

Hey you......

I've never been to any burlesque show, but I've seen the Suicide Girls perform.

To begin with, here were some of my observations of their show:

- They like natural girls - no silicone enhancements;

- About 40% of the audience were females (much to my surprise...)

- The audience was predominantly tattoo'ed and pierced; your "bohemian" crowd, per say;

- The after party show was awesome...!

- the tryout girls will do "chores" during the show like collecting stipped clothes and sweep the stage floor...before they get to perform straight away.

So there you have it....if you do decide to join, you'll probably be the "support cast" and do the chore work - maybe by then you'll get a better idea if this is for you....

Interesting...I never realized membership to SuicideGirls was so affordable. I admit that I just assumed it was something like $19.95/month like other "erotic" sites. I now see there is much more to the site than the erotic side. It's no more expensive than membership to HotOrNot.com - so I'm going to be signing up!

blinkchick, I say go for it - BUT I completely agree with starpiste. I would advocate against participating if you give up control of the pictures. Ideally, you would grant SuicideGirls.com a release to use the pictures in the normal course of their business (from displaying them on the site to using them in advertising to further promote the site), but would PROHIBIT them from reselling or licensing them to third parties. Basically, the deal should be structured that they are paying you $300 not for the pictures, but for the right to display them.

And please, do let us know what you decide to do

Well, I can't give any "Fatherly" advice until I see the site...and I can't get to it from work. I'll have to check it out when I get home...

From the sounds of the posts so far, I'd say....NO!

But what kind of Father would I be if I didn't? Well, let's wait until I get a chance to check it out...

Thanks guys...and no kyle no pics for you. I took some pictures and have shown them to friends...all liked and said they were very tasteful.

So the $300 is just a perk to me...I didn't even know they paid until after I applied. Go figure. I think it sounds fun and well yea. So after some more research I found answers to the comments/questions you guys posed.

Losing right to images:
I only send pictures I want posted on the site...I can request them to be taken down at anytime and they will attempt to take them down as quickly as possible.

Mom, Dad, Gran, Future Husband, etc. finding it:
Well my current boy-type-thing loves that I'm considering the site. He thinks its a good way for me to express myself and well I'm guessing the fact he can use my account for free access to the site wouldn't hurt his opinion. As for the family I don't really care about their opinions about me. My one cousin (19 yrs old) has already done swimsuit modeling. No one really cared other than my prude aunt and uncle (that aunt recently died).

Anything I forgot...I got sidetracked watching 'What a girl wants'...sigh amanda bines.
