Just an interesting article that I thought that I would share with y'all.

Trusting Someone

How many of your friends do you really trust, and how would you be absolutely certain that they wouldn't backstab you?

Just curious...

interesting article but I don't agree with it all. I do trust people and maybe that is b/c no one has let me down!! And i'm a good pearson to trust hehe i'm to honest. My friends and family are always there when i need them a lot of times i don't even have to call they just know!!! I would trust my mom and any one of my sister 100% Also there are those friends that I trust 100%. YEs you need to be aware of what is going on around you but if you can't trust people what a sad life you will have!! To me it seems that you would be missing a lot b/c you will be living behind your little wall and looking around it at what is going on ever now and then!!
Is that any way to live? Maybe for some but not fot me

PARANOIA: you only have to be right once to make it all worthwhile...

haha just kidding. I go with my gut instinct about trusting people, and it pretty much never lets me down. If I make the mistake of trusting someone I shouldn't have, I can almost always look back and see a point where I didn't listen to my gut about that person.

i think the way you carry your self natuarly and your bondy language effects how much you can trust people, say if you carry your self confidently and ppl subconsciously pick up on that and helps with the amount of intial respect you have, which effects the amount some one would do somthing you ask, and how much you can trust them

I usually trust everyone until they prove me wrong...But as SV said, I do have a good gut instinct about people.

Yes, I usually go with my gut too. It's natural for me to give 100% trust to everyone I meet right off the bat. But actions always speak louder than words and when actions and or behaviour become suspicious or questionable, that percentage starts dropping :greenguy: .

I used to trust everyone until they proved me wrong... until I was proven wrong in a very hurtful way and it broke my heart! It shattered my all my trust I had for anyone and now I proceed with caution. I feel like if I make people earn my trust I won't get hurt as easier.

There is my sob story. Sorry guys!

I trust in Tao/God/All/fate/whatever 100%.
Myself 95%-99%.
Rest on a sliding scale below that...

So, where do I fit on that sliding scale, voydster? 10-20%?

Exclamation

^ Lol, you really wanna know, Mikey?

Naw, seriously I have no reason not to trust you other than:
1) You're a guy off the net whom I haven't met or talked to thoroughly.
2) You're human.

So, nothing personal, but those 2 default factors alone would start you off at a baseline of maybe, oh, 50%? So, you really don't give yourself enough credit here, my man!

Now, that said, you do seem a reliable, stable, helpful sort. So, maybe I'd spot you at 60%? And, I would still do a lot of things even with a 50%r - hang out, loan some things, etc. And it's not that I would only trust you 50% with everything, just maybe 100% with 50% of things, and less with the other 50% - such as conflicts-of-interest, doing-things-with-nothing-in-it-for-you, coming-thru-in-the-clutch, etc... Those are the things that really test a relationship and many people fail at. At least in my experience - many people have better luck than me, though.

Anyways, this answer was wayy too long, but I used it as an opportunity to disourse on "trust."
