Ok T-PUNKERS!
Im just curious so I have two questions:
How did you find TravelPUNK?
Why were you looking?
I was looking for some info on buses in Europe and shot over through a search engine. Wow! Im glad I did that, I havent needed to look for answers since.

I was browsing thru the thorntree (on the lonely planet website) and our own mr. TP himself posted about travelpunk.com saying that it was a cool place etc. So i went to the link and umm i found a website that looked cool, but there wasn't anyone here. I mean barely any members..but i signed up anyways because i thought it had potential. And i was sooooooo right.

I think I was just late night surfing on the web and stumbled upon the site. I found a few posters from my city (which I thought was really strange) and decided to sign up. I've been contributing to the delinquency of the place ever since.

I finally decided I wanted to backpack through Europe, but wanted to find people who had gone, so I could find out what to expect. I was actually looking for travelogues because I like to read peoples adventures. I happent to be on some site that linked travelpunk right below itself on their link page, I clicked the link and liked the atmosphere here and never went to that #3 link. (and the abundance of canadians eh, my favorite neighbors to the north! )

Believe it or not, I found out about the site from USA Today. They had an issue that listed all kinds of helpful travel web sites, and TP was on it.

I was researching for my upcoming trip to Europe and read the article in USA Today online. I'm very glad I did, as I am going to be able to extend my stay by staying in hostels.
Thanks T-punk,
horsewoman

I'm really not sure how I stumbled onto this site. It was over a year ago, and I think I saw a link somewhere and thought that "Travelpunk" sounded like a fantastic site to check out. Just from the name.

Sure...
I think i was directed here from another board by someone reccomending this site... It was a good thing too. This site has been great for me. Finding out other ppls thoughts and ideas about travelling to europe. Its all well and good reading reviews, but its not until you find reviews and ideas from a group of ppl you trust that you truely are happy about travelling to a foreign land solo.
I thank you guys... And hold my beer up to you as a tribute...

I found Travelpunk when I was on Google and typed in "topless europe girls!"
Actually, in my search for the right name for my little grassroots budget travel website project, I wanted something that sounded like it would represent travelers like me, that went solo and or who does things on their own terms.
Traveling alone, I felt like I was going against the flow. This is how I've always done things in my life, and the name seemed to represent that. Stop talk'n about it and do it! Do it any way you can...just get it done!

I was researching for my trip next fall on another backpacking site. On their msg. boards they had a discussion about sex while backpacking and someone posted a link to this site saying it had an ongoing discussion on the subject...
So I guess sex brought me to travelpunk?
