I got a job!!!!!
Super duper happy right now!!
I qualify as a psych nurse next month, and I've been seriously worried abut jobs. The job situation is pretty dire over here at the minute, hardly any mental health nurse jobs around at all. A vacancy came up at a place I had a placement at recently, a unit for 13-17 year olds with psychiatric illness. I loved it so much, it was so fulfilling, I loved the kids, the staff, the job. So when a vacancy came up, I was really encouraged to apply by everyone who worked there.
I had my interview today, and they are also interviewing tomorrow and Wednesday. I was due to hear from them on Wednesday, but I just got a call saying they didn't want to leave me hanging, and I'd been successful!
It's not been decided which ward I'm on yet (it's one of three, all within one centre) - obviously I'd love to be on the ward I had my placement, but I really don't mind. Also not confirmed yet is whether I'll have a permenant or one year temp contract. That is all going to be decided once they've interviewed everyone else.
Wheeeeee, I'm so happy! My first proper job!!

Certainly am! It all seems to be slotting into place. The apartment is literally a 5 minute walk from the job, which is a big bonus. Most of my friends have got jobs up here, so we'll all be sticking around.
