Good looking out Mermaidnz, unfortunately I read the post too late and missed it. Next time. The Polish indoor team are on now, they're looking damn fine in their tiny shorts. God i hope they win.

LOL!!!!!!! Why is it that he always has to have the WORST look on his face?
As for the synchronized diving, I wasn't even aware that was an event! I knew about synchronized swimming and then regular platform or springboard diving, but not that. Pretty cool though.
I got pretty into the swimming last night to, we fucking rock! I'm mad like a third of the US women's gymnastics team is injured lol.

That 4x100 relay was nothing short of amazing! I have become such a junkie the last few days. According to Wikipedia, this is the 3rd Olympics for Synchrodiving but I never remembered in the past.

Ok, that isn't even the worst picture of bush....Misty-May Tranor (the girl in the picture's partner) bent over and asked him to slap her on the butt since it was an Athletic tradition. He kind of patted her on the back instead but it makes for a pretty funny pic:
Does he look like he's in mid slap or what??

Bush should have just manned up and gave her a slap on the ass. Dignity be damned... :P

as cool as the opening ceremony was and looks like things are running smoothly...I'm still heartbroken Toronto lost the bid for these Olympics.

You guys have Vancouver in 2 years though! Which should be awesome, Whistler is amazing and they were already advertising it on the mountain last year when I was there

thats true, but Vancouver to Toronto is still a big distance to go and it will likely be insanely expensive to stay there for a few days during that time. Its just not the same as it being in your own backyard.

We're five or six days into the Olympics and Canada still hasn't won one single medal. Still enjoying the show though.

Esther, the fact that Canada hasn't won a medal is just all the more reason for Canada to merge with the heroes down south. We insist on having a "round number" of stars so either 55 or 60.
For option A, 55, I say we do the following
American Columbia formerly BC,
Albertaskatchetoba,
Quebec, aka Freedom Canada
Ontario
Maritimes
For option B, I guess we can pick off the rest of the country. For the more northern provinces and territories it doesn't really matter if we take allofit or nunavit

^^^Just as I was to suggest the US integrates Canada, so that the world gets rid of Bushish presidents.
I'm afraid your options would be ze opportunity for Quebec to become an independant country right away.

If it wasn't for possible oil rights in the Arctic I would say just give them to the Russkies.

By the way, the Georgia beach volley ball team is from Brazil, they've only actually been to Georgia twice!!
Apparently the russians were whining about it after they got beaten by Georgia today. Apparently blowing up their country wasn't good enough, they really wanted a volleyball win too

The 33 year old Gymnast was competing for Germany but I can't remember her name. They had a feature on her, she won a gold medal at 14 or 16 for the USSR before it was broken up. She was living in what became Ukraine...then her son got leukemia, but Ukraine didn't have any oncology programs available to treat him. So she asked one of the German competitors she had become friendly with at those original Olympics for help and they somehow arranged for her to emigrate to Germany. So now her son is healthy and she somehow managed to get back in shape and make the German gymnastics team.
The 41 year old swimmer is Dara Torres, who anchored one of the women's relay races (they got silver). Ridiculous body even for an athlete, much less at 41! Look at those freakin abs and biceps!

Thanks Brett! I'm amazed by how exercising can defy the effects of aging. Especially to women having giving birth...
Congrats to those women, whether or not they win a medal.
