By the way, two big thumbs up for the TP forum. I stumbled across this site a couple of weeks ago and I am so happy I did!! A great way to pass the time as I count down the days til europe...
Anyway as my time to leave gets closer, I keep doing these slightly strange things in preparation for when I don't have the luxuries of home. I'll be gone around two years all up, so I'm pretty much leaving my entire life behind, except that which fits into my backpack.
The prime example is that I dyed my blonde hair a deep red-brown last week. My hair grows really fast and I'm not into re-growth. I'm naturally blonde... just not as natural as how my hairdresser does it! It actually suits me, which was a bit of a shock. Dark is no where near as fun as being blonde though I wouldn't trust myself with peroxide in a hostel in order to maintain my colour and going to a hairdresser would be way too expense. I figure chucking a dark colour through every once in a while to combat the light roots will be much easier. So goodbye blonde. The chick who's wedding I was in (as bridesmaid) 3 days later wasn't too happy with me though!!
I've started avoiding wearing the clothes I'm taking, I'm working my way through my "to kiss" list of guys and learnt how to roll cigarettes .
I'm pretty much set!!
So I'm now putting the call out, what are some of the weird things you've done before leaving?

well, nothing too wierd yet. i'm planning my "last chance" party. last chance to say adios, last chance to drink a beer with me, last chance to... well, we shall see.
went to the doc to get my pap smeared (not a typo, just a crude slight of tongue). wanted to make sure i'm leaving for euro with a "clean slate". really that's probably the wierdest thing i've done so far.
but i still have 60 days (exactly from today), so that's plenty of time to do some more wierd stuff!

I'm from Melbourne. Where are you from? What are your plans? Travelling for a couple of months around Europe, then hopefully getting a job somewhere in the UK. I have a 2 year working holiday visa. Can't wait to get outta this place! Its exactly 6 weeks tomorrow til I leave... getting very excited.
I don't actually think I wrote an intro post... hence the reason why you couldn't find one

Hey echo, I'm also going to work in UK in a few months after travelling! so excited! I haven't done anything yet, but I'm planning on getting my legs waxed ( I wrote a thread about it).
Are you going through SWAP? If so, I was reading their book of what they recommend to bring along and they mentioned condoms. Apparently they're hard to find in some places in Europe and some are not that dependable. Anyways, thought that would be a funny thing to do to "prepare" for a trip!
