So, with the current record levels of gas prices, just curious as to how much people are paying per gallon or liter where you live?

In Los Angeles, I am paying between $4.19-$4.25 per gallon

3.81 here in Indiana. Car Diesel in Brooklyn was 4.63 a gallon... Amazing.

3.85 in Kentucky. Thought it was going to go down after the Derby ended and tourists left town, no such luck. I'm looking for a moped, no more car driving for me!

I'm paying $3.68 per gallon of regular unleaded in Charlotte, North Carolina right now. I'm kinda glad I'll be out of the US and traveling by train this summer because I won't have to worry about prices until I get back and move to Nashville.

Yeah over here in the Raleigh/Fayetteville area it was like 3.61 last time I filled up. Kill me. So glad I got rid of my SUV!

In the UK I'm paying £1.15 per litre, that's £4.35 ($8.50) per US gallon.

Where at about $1.88 per Litre here in NZ - no idea what that is in gallons.....

Not impressed though it costs me about $10-15 more a tank (compared to around 1.5 years ago)to fill up my tiny nana starlet, i'd hate to think how much extra gas guzzlers cost!

Around $1.43 a litre in Melbourne. Although it was up over $1.50 a couple of weeks ago.

It's $3.79 in Portland, OR today.

I'm moving down to SF at the end of the month and not looking forward to spending so much on gas on the way down....by the way, anyone have friends looking for a roommate in SF? I want to live in the city, near a BART station. Thanks!

WHAT. Damn, I thought I had it hard.

When I started driving, $38 got me a full tank (Honda Accord). Now it takes $54!! So depressing

Anyway, $3.65 ish overhere in Columbia, MD.

when I started driving, gas was 99 cents a gallon. It used to take me $15 to fill up my car if the gas light was on. I filled it up in Raleigh all the way when the gas light came on and it was $54.

It's about $3.89 a gallon in suburban Illinois, about $3.56 when I left eastern Iowa a few days ago. I recently spent a few weeks driving around the western US and the most I paid for it was $3.99 (actually less because I had the gas station's credit card) in Eureka, CA. I can't think of what the cheapest would have been. Probably $3.40 something in Wyoming. I planned on tallying up what I spent at the end, but now I'm a bit scared to do so!

It's between $3.61 and $3.89 here in Seattle. It was about $8 per gallon in the UK in February/March; about $7-ish per gallon in India in the same time frame; about $8.50 in Greece in March, and a little over $10 per gallon in Turkey in March. Guess where I had to rent a car? Yeah. Turkey. $100 US for about 9.5 gallons in a Hyundai Accent.

The cheapest I've seen it here in Ireland is €1.16 at a tesco's. Everywhere else it's around €1.29 per litre. That's around $8 per US gallon I think.

Whats really bugging me about it now though is diesel's somehow managed to become more expensive than petrol and that's only happened in the last year or so. I've been told it's because their are so many more diesels on the road these days but I don't know if that makes sense.

Good job I have a company car so I don't have to worry about fuel prices, insurance or any of those headaches.

I remember when I first started driving my little Corolla five years ago it cost me $14 max to fill up, I used to scrounge together bags of change to cover my weekly driving. Now I pay $40+. In some ways I think it's somewhat good that gas is going up enough to make American's realize that driving is somewhat of a luxury. However, not having any type of reliable public transportation even when you're living in the center of a metro area is ridiculous. We've totally missed the boat on that. In Louisville, KY we only have a shitty bus system. It's fine if you only need to get down the street or take one line to get to your destination. However, you'll always have to wait close to 45 minutes for a bus and to get to my job that's only about 15 minutes away it would take me 2+ hours by bus, impossible when you have to go straight from school to work. And if you live in a rural area, you're totally srewed. My job doesn't pay well enough to cover the gas I use to get there, and unfortunately it's the best paying job I've ever had and am likely to find.

Why can't we have the kind of transportation choices most countries have!!!!
