seeing as everyone here loves to travel, does anyone work in the travel industry? flight attendant, travel agent, tour guide..anything?

I don't directly work in the travel industry, but I work for a rafting company during the spring & summer, and we get clients from everywhere! It's an interesting job, however it's local, and I don't exactly get to move around much (I'm the office/sales girl, not a quite a guide...) but whitewater rafting is quite the thrill in itself, and I can help myself to a trip just about anytime! I have had the opportunity to make some connections with people all over the world, learn about rafting in Peru and Chile, and I just found the same job available in Costa Rica.

I'm an intern for a travel agency. Don't really plan on ever doing retail travel consulting, to much b/s. Those girls go through more things in one day than I could handle before I started yelling at the customer.

I own a condo rental business in the Dominican Republic with my sister and brothers. I used to live there and manage it, but I moved home to Canada last May and left it to my sister to manage. We rented our condos out to tourists that were visiting the DR, but didn't want to stay in an All-Inclusive.

I work for USAirways...ground employee. I am in Slovenia right now. Plane fare as a airline employee:
- Columbus to Charlotte to Frankfurt, Germany: free!
- Frankfurt to Ljubljana, Slovenia: $30 each way

Of course, it is standby...that is why I chose my 3rd choice, Slovenia, after the flights looked too full to try for Cyprus and Croatia...!

I just graduated with a degree in hospitality management... well, technically I graduate Saturday! Right now I work in a restaurant but soon I will start my management trainee program with a large hotel chain.
