Default be careful, Tpunks!

So I went out with a group of my friends tonight to see one of our other friends play in his band. Everyone was having a great time, I, of course, stuck to my glass of water (good times lol) and everyone else was buying $5 buckets and rounds of shots, you know, another Friday night with the gang. No one is really careful about drinks because we come here a lot and it's no big thing, and everyone goes out to smoke, and will come back in and keep drinking. I don't go out, obviously but I wander around and chat up the bartender or whatever, so table is left completely empty.

We were there about 3 hours and my friend Amanda tugs on my arm and is like "Let's get out of here, I don't feel so hot" and so we walk back to her car, and I start to back up and she violently throws up for like, ever. We make it back to her house and she's right in the bathroom and she's talking nonsense and it was REALLY scary.

I'm googling online what to do and finally I decide to take her to the ER, because we've been friends since our freshman year of college, she is my partner in crime, and can put them away like I used to. She is NOT a puker, no matter what she mixes, and I've seen her at her worse. She didn't even have enough to drink tonight to make her drunk, or wasted or whatever. So when she's rolling around in the bathroom like "I've never been this sick in my life" I know that this is not a fucking joke.

Turns out she was roofied. Which is SO scary because someone could have put something in MY water, thinking it was like a vodka tonic or something, or maybe someone else from our group got roofied too, I just don't know, because she and I left so fast, we didn't even say goodbye!

Sooo, just a friendly reminder, maintain awareness of your drinks at ALL times, it can happen to ANYONE.

Also found this website for what to do if you get roofied abroad while I was googling what to do for her, so check it out.

The Roofie Foundation - Dealing with drink spiking, date rape, and roofie queries.

Scary, shiznit, Nic. Water or no water, I think your bar days are over until after you give birth. You just never know...

Hope everyone is fine and thank God you got nothing in your water!

I went home and she texted me about an hour ago saying she still felt sick, but the ER people said she'd probably feel terrible until about noon and then still not so hot until tomorrow.

Yikes glad you didnt get anything! Yeah I know a few peeps that have gotten drugged. Its scary. Yeah luckily I am extremely paranoid about accepting anything from strangers. Even if a guy goes and gets me a bottle of water I wont drink it unless the cap is sealed. Glad your mate is ok. !

Wow, that's scary stuff. Roofies are so pathetic. Seriously, who would do something like that? It's so sick even thinking about what would cause someone to think that that was an alright thing to do. Hope your friend gets better soon!

May not be a bad idea. Or only go to the 'local watering hole' where you know everyone.

well I try not to let it stop me from hanging out with my friends and doing my normal stuff. and now that I am not drinking I certainly don't mind driving any of my friends home so they get home safely, because I know everyone risks it. but yeah, sticking with what I know will be a better idea.
