Default Baby Updates

It's been a bit since I posted any kind of pregnancy updates...It's really amazing though how quickly the awful nausea/all-day "morning" sickness can disappear! Pretty much since the start of my second trimester, I've been feeling energized and so much better. The doctor is happy with how everything is going and checks the strong little heartbeat every time I have an appointment. It's cliche but just hearing it gets me all teary-eyed.

The out of whack hormones are probably the hardest thing to explain...For a girl who is generally pretty happy and easy going, it's difficult to handle the mood swings that rear their ugly heads. On me and Sandy. He isn't someone to get angry though, he handles them better than I do. He knows it's not me, that it's just the pregnancy. He takes very good care of me and I love him a little more every day.

Lots of people ask me about food cravings. I haven't had any weird ones yet, but when I get it into my head that I want something in particular to eat...that's what it has to be! Bacon cheeseburgers....yum. Macaroni and Cheese (with ketchup of course) Ice Cream and pickles have been the big ones. At my last Doctors appointment I got weighed and I gained my first pregnancy pounds...all 4 of them! That was a couple weeks ago and I am pretty sure I have gained a couple more. I still don't look obviously pregnant but those people that know me can see the added roundness in my belly!

I'm 22 weeks today and the baby is all of one pound. It moves around a lot and it is the weirdest feeling. It feels like a goldfish swimming in my belly. Although in the last few days the movements have gotten more intense and less like flutters and more like actual bumping around.

My mother-in-law surprised me at Christmas with a few presents for "Baby". A big teddy bear holding a baby for the nursery, some diapers and bath supplies and a few toys. Sandy said he wasn't surprised, she loves being a Grandma. My mom is also so excited and can't wait for this baby's arrival (this is her first grandchild)

I have another ultrasound on Jan.9th and I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or a girl. I really think it's a boy...I have from the beginning. I don't care either way though as long as I have a healthy baby.

Names....well we have pretty much settled on a boys name and the girls name is still being tossed around a little. We aren't setting any names in stone because we are famous for changing our minds.

Awwww yay!!! And ketchup with mac and cheese? Ewwww!!!

When my half sister got pregnant she made these sandwiches... it was peanut butter, pickle, and chocolate syrup.... and I tried one, it was pretty good!!!

January 9th though, that's very soon! I bet you are so excited!! I can't imagine the people who don't want to know the sex of the baby until it's born! I would not be able to take the anticipation.

Anyhoo, glad it's going well for you and keep us posted!! :D

That is about as repulsive a meal as anything I have ever heard. Did you eat that before becoming preggers? You Canucks put some strange things in your mouths.....(and you eat weird shit too).

I do give you brownie points for not calling it Kraft Dinner or whatever its called up there in the great white north.

My mom wonders why I put ketchup on my eggs.

I can't wait for the baby. A new generation of T-punkers.

I still kinda reel at the thought of actually becoming a Mom. It's a little bit scary but I'm so excited.

The next generation of TravelPunks...I'm going to sew one of the patches onto an outfit for the little punk.

It sounds so exciting! I didn't look on the new t-shirt page - is there a baby onesie?? :D

And I might have to try it just to be adventurous - you know, the best ketchup comes from Pittsburgh! Hope you're not spoiling your mac and cheese with that Hunt's crap! (Also, I have only heard of Kraft Dinners on a recording of the 12 days of Christmas done by the "Strange Brew" characters...you know, "five go-old toques!")

There is currently no baby onesie....perhaps I will have to talk to Tony about that one! It would be a hot seller. Anyone on here that has a baby or knows a baby would get one for the future little traveller.

Well I'm 23 weeks along now. Still no real big belly which is funny. I think in the next few weeks it will just pop out or something. Strangers still don't know that I'm pregnant. I still wear a belt with my jeans. I feel the baby kicking all the time and it makes me happy to have such a little active kid in there.

I have my 2nd ultrasound tomorrow. I've got Sandy to the point where he doesn't really care if I tell him if it's a boy or girl. That is of course if I can find out myself! So if the baby is cooperating then I will know by tomorrow night and can start buying pink or blue. I want to buy material for the cradle bumpers and get them made...Gosh I scare myself at how much I think about this baby. It's so crazy to know how much my life is going to change.

Names. We have a boys name picked out and it has stuck for a few months now, so we're pretty sure on the boys name. We are struggling more with the girls names though. There are a few that we like but I'm just not sure if I love the names we have been talking about for girls. If it turns out to be a girl I may need to do a survey here on Tpunk to help us choose a name.

What boys names have they used in past generations in both of your families?

yeah!!! oooooh I love coming up with baby names!!

I am currently a fan of Jillian and Johanna. Also Juliana. But of course, I plan on keeping the "J" name tradition my g-ma did with my mom and her sisters.

My boss' little niece is Aisley, which I think is TOO cute also.

We have a boys name picked out already. It's the girls name that is making my head go all whacky.

I used to have a list of names as well picked out for my future kids. But for some reason none of them are flying off the page at me. I think that once there is actually a real baby you have to name the list goes out the window. At least it did for me.

I can get into unique names but I've got to draw the line somewhere. Some of the celebrities name their children the most god-awful names, and the one that comes to mind first is Gweneth Paltrow naming her daughter Apple.

Let's get serious.

Courtney Cox named her kid Coco... which I don't know how I feel about it. On one hand I think of the hot and chocolately beverage, and on the other hand I think of Coco Chanel, and that's a horse of a different color altogether now.

Gillian Anderson named her daughter Piper Maru which if any other celebrity did it I may have hated it but since she's hot and can do no wrong, she could have named her kid Slinky and I would have liked it.

The Brangelina Brood: Shiloh (anyone ever read the children's book about the dog?), Zahara, Pax, and the other one... I forget his name.

Nicholas Cage named his kid Kal-El Cappola (as a side note, Superman's brith name was Kal-El...)

Other z-list celebs have picked the following names: Audio Science (no I'm not joking), Fifi, Moon Unit, and Pilot Inspektor

Obviously children named Moon Unit and Audio Science will be the first ones beat up in grade school, probably by kids with normal names like Sarah and Jeff.
