i had planned to do to japan in feburary for a month, thinking of either asking hit o come on that trip (and cutting it down to about 2 weeks) or waiting till june and take him to s.e asia for 2-3 months. it can only be one or the other.

damnit, hes such a good kid, either that 2 hour conversation i had with him last year about bucking his ideas up worked..or he has been good for awhile and poeple have lied to me about him (no one in my family wanted 'a stripper' to take him to sort him out) im guessing both. mum would have said he was still being a cunt so i wouldnt let him go to the Uk...grrr selfishness!

sending him his passport forms today with payment for it, hopefully he will have his passport all done and in his hands by christmas

Wow, you seriously are a great sister! I think backpacking is a great idea! Sounds like he is really starting to get his life together, but i think backpacking would really open his eyes a little wider, and put his life into the next gear! I think you really showed him that 'someone' cared about him....Let us know what you decide!

ill ask him what hed rather do.

obviusly, since i was plannin gon travelling to japan for a month in feb-he would only be 17, and unable to drink... or if we waited, wed be able to more counrties for longer, and legally drinking....a huge part of me wants to do japan nethertheless, but i totally see the 17 year old opionion on things, and would rather wait to make it a birthday hell never forget.

and as much as i love the comments about how great i am as a sister, im not really. its all guilt. i was taken out of that home at about 7 and given to my grandparents to live eith till i was 17....my brother was lumped with all the shit of growing up with mum... i feel bad, and do whatever is in my power o make it up to him.

^ whatever you say, it wasn't your fault you had to leave him alone there (children at 7 don't exactly tend to make all the "big decisions" in the household ) And whether it's guilt driving you or not, I think you've proven well enough that you're still a really good sister who cares a lot about her brother and are willing to do a great deal for him....
