Default Ahh yes, Accepted to Chico State

Well one more piece of the puzzle, a very important one, came together today. I got accepted to California State University, Chico. Its not a very hard school to get into or anything, but I would have been kinda screwed now if I didn't get accepted. I was in Sikkim, India, when I realized the application deadline, and I had to pull a shitbag move and ask my sister to apply for me because it has to be done online and the computers in Sikkim were all out to get me. So I was kinda worried that my sister made a mistake or . . . I dunno, for some strange reason I wouldn't get accepted. And I've already paid the deposit and all to move to Chico, not knowing for sure if I was actually accepted. I just knew I had to get out of this small hicktown I'm staged at now.

ahhhhh, relief.

So I'm waiting on the damn "background check" and all that crap for my new apartment, just waiting on the phone to ring so I can move in. And they want to repaint and recarpet it . . . . but why, its in great condition right now. Just let me move in . . ahhhhhhhh! I'm going nuts here in Susanville, gotta go.

yay good for you that's awesome! applying to college is such a hassle and I forgot what a hassle it was until I was doing it again a few months ago when I decided to put in my ROTC packet.

anyhoo, yay for you!! I'm sure it wil be nice to finally get settled in and just kick it for awhile.

Congratulations!! I applied for uni while I was on the road, but the course I applied for required going in for an interview. They kept sending interview offers for dates while I was away, so I had to get my mum calling up these unis all the time to change them.

What you studying??

I'll be majoring in International Relations . . . not sure about my minor yet. I was thinking German Studies, but I'm afraid all my job offers would place me in Germany, which sounds great right now, but I know in a few years I might not want to pick up and re-root myself in a new country again if I have a serious relationship and/or family at that point.

So . . . if anyone's in the NorCal area and feel like a meet-up, let me know! My apartment has plenty of room for fellow t-punks. Also, Chico's a really cool place for rafting, hiking, biking, whatever, and the nightlife is killer.

(Actually, it really is killer, there's been several deaths in the last few years at frat parties, cars flipped in drunken celebration, all sorts of good stuff . . . a good time guaranteed.)

I had college app chaos with my trip to Australia, it is so stressful. I was applying to a bunch of places and was coming right up to the deadlines. I had a few details to finish before heading out on my trip, and a couple days before my flight that blackout of the eastern part of the US struck. So I couldn't get little bits of info from the internet, didn't have the addresses of the admissions offices, etc. Luckily australia has no issues with internet access so I could get info there and email isntructions back to my family on how to finish and send the apps.

Glad it worked out for you!

yeah, that has to be one of the most stressful things to deal with while traveling. I wasted several days in Gangtok trying to get their horrible computers and internet connections to work for me before finally giving up.

ahhhhh, it's Monday and I'm still in Susanville! I'm so sick of being here, I have got to get out of here. Why can't the phone just ring, with a voice telling me the apartment's ready?!!!

I'm out!!!!!!! New apartment's ready.

Don't think the parent's will be too happy, I'm taking off while they're at work . . . oh well, I'll see them this weekend.

I won't have Internet access for a little while, so I won't be much until I get it setup in my apartment.

Later!!!!!!!!!!!
