Default Coffeeshops visited in Amsterdam

So here's my list of the coffeeshops and pot strains smoked on my last trip (twice in one month) to Holland.

Coffeeshops:
Amsterdam:
Rokerij I (favorite for sentimental reasons)
Rokerij III
Siberie (2nd Favorite)
Cafe Free
Rookies
Overkaut Horis
Greenhouse Namaste
Haarlem:
The Theehuis (The oldest, and the staff is the coolest)
Willy Wortels
Empire Coffeeshop

Pot Strains tried:
Laughing Buddha - 1gram
Super Macko - 1gram
Apple Jack - left overs from a friend leaving country
Nevilles Haze - 1gram
Northern Lights - Pre-rolled
Silver Haze - 1gram
Mix Pure pre-rolled
Hawaiian Haze - 1gram
Skunk pure pre-roll
Thai pure pre-roll
Wheit pure pre-roll

All the Haze's are sativa, which is a very active bud, good for staying out and about instead of staring at a wall for many hours. The pre-rolls are just good for grabbing to smoke on the walk. Beware of the mix pre-rolls, as they are mainly tobacco and very harsh. We have comfortably smoked weed pretty much anywhere in Holland. Royal Palace stair steps, Centrall, every canal we walked down, etc..... As long as you don't sit down next to a family, or act like a bunch of obnoxious fratboys, the cops will leave you alone. We even sat in the Museumplein park, and smoked many joints with cops with dogs, just yards away. No worries or concerns. Just be smart and smoke it down.
Cheers

How did you remember the names of all these places? All I remember is La Cana and 420 cafe but their practically next door to the flying pig, once you go beyound them two it gets a bit hazy I've been to them all the ones near the centre of Amsterdam though.

I always like to write down the strain of pot I buy and put it in the bag. Over a couple days, I will have many bags going, as we like to smoke different bowls or joints everytime to avoid getting immune to it. As for the shops, somehow we just remember. Plus with that being our 3rd trip to the Dam, we have been to most of the shops. That list was just from this last trip. Sadly, it looks as if we are taking a break from Europe for a while, and hitting other parts of the world, but Holland feels like home everytime we go. If we win the lottery one day, you can count on us having a 2nd home there!!!!!

That happened me too, I always felt bad going into a coffee shop without buying something and they all had interesting names like bubblegum and Amnesia haze so I had to try them all.

Had to do the dog on it on the last day trying to smoke it all up before I got on the plane. I've never been searched flying from Amsterdam though and it seems everyone else brings something home so maybe next time I'll just try bringing it home.

Yeah, I would probably try to fly into Ireland with some, (BIG maybe), but never into the U.S. That is not the shit I want to end up getting into. I'm with you, I try to blaze it all down before jumping the train to Schipol!

At some point I am sure a state will legalize it. Having never smoked any myself (not counting 2nd hand inhalation) is the buzz you get off of it kind of like alcohol or not really?

Thats a tough one Joe. Pot affects everyone in a different way. I feel its different from alcohol, as its instant. 2-3 puffs, and you start feeling the affects. I will also say that as for me, I can feel a big difference between the different types of pot. To try to explain would be very difficult, but the buzz is more of a body buzz, and floaty etc... but like I said, it seems to be different from person to person. I have been a daily smoker for close to 15 years now, and its just a way of life for me. I have had pot in the states almost as good as in the Netherlands, but just the ability to walk in and buy what you want, makes the buzz even better. etc....... If you do go to smoke for the first time, DO NOT have much alcohol first, or you will be done.

Smoke is allot different from Drink. Drink seems to be a mood enhancer, if your in a bad mood and start drinkin your mood just gets worse. Cannabis nearly always put's you in the same happy mood every time. You can't overdose on it like alcohol, you can get to a stage where your overloaded and get sick but once you get sick your more or less fine. Actually taking a fatal overdose is impossible you can't physically ingest enough thc through smoking.

Some people do have different reactions to it, one girl I know says she starts seeing shit but I'm pretty sure she's just giving that as an excuse not to take the stuff. I found when smoking in Amsterdam that there was no paranoia, getting caught makes me paranoid not cannabis.

The thing for first timers is unlike drink where you have to ingest allot to feel affects that creep up on you cannabis has almost instant effects which can be scary when your not used to coming up that way. That's one of the benifits of smoke though your putting your system under less strain because it's only dealling with small amounts whereas with alcohol your putting litres through your system which kicks the shit out of your internals.

I don't think any country or state will be making it legal in the foreseeable future thanks to the UN, their behind the legal state of cannabis. The reasons for it becoming illegal in the first place had nothing to do with health and where more to do with politics and business (Hemp Vs cotton).

I'd love to see it legalised I think it's a much better recreational drug than drink.
