Default upsize my adventure!!

Hey all!
Im having the best week (just got my visa for canada, finished uni, got a job, ski season is starting ) and my parents just offered to pay for my flights to canada since im graduating uni
Thing is id actually already put away about $3000 for flights so i could ease up on savings (im not leaving till october) but im thinking ill stick with my old savings goals and just upsize my travels! (there has been the odd hint i could put some $$s on my studnt loan but i figure it'll stilll be there when i get back )
So what would u guys suggest? Im keen to do a short stint in NYC at some point (preferably round christmas) but otherwise am intending to head to banff or fernie and work for a season, very open to any suggestions though of other places i should check out either whilst im in canada or en route
Hope your all well!

Go your parents!!

I have nothing valuale to say, but i wouldn't bother putting it on the student loan - its not like you earn interest on it when your away, or even if you are away more than the 6 months or whatever it is, you can just pay it back out of your wages when you come back to work in NZ.

Upsize all the way!

Dip down into the U.S. and check out the National Parks. Lots of amazing scenery, cool hiking trails, and generally very accessible.

I'm with Amanda on this. Deal with the student loan in time. Take the gift and enrich your soul...even more.

And like Mike said, dip into the US. You won't regret it. Go parents!

That's awesome! Your parents are incredibly generous for helping you out! Do you have to pay your loans off right away in NZ? I know in the States you usually have 6 months and then you have to start paying them off unless you go to grad school. Definitely try to make it into the US at least for a little bit!

yeah im very spoilt in that i have a great family
I am beggining to wonder however if maybe im going to need the $$ i had saved anyway... my savings arent coming along too quickly even with having started full time work last week so it may not actually be feasible to increase my plans too much at this point and time, definately planning on a week in new york but would luv to see as much of canada/america as i can but am thinking maybe continue to try and save keep a bit as a cushion for setting myself up with over there whilst finding work and im sure if i do find i have a bit of excess dosh i'll be able to come up with news plans to spend it then
sorry what a ramble! im studying and it turns my brain to mush!

ah to canada well sorta.. for 6 to 12 months to work and play and then we will see from there i guess! Im ridiculously close with my family so i dont know how id do being away longer than a year!
I finish my second degree tommorow (when i sit the exam i should be studying for at this very mo lol) so bar the family and friends factor theres very little tying me back to here , at some point i have to get real, get a real job and pay of my student loan haha but not in a hurry so could potentially stay n work in canada for awhile..
Im very open, i think i'll keep an eye on the job market there and back home and just take things as they come
