Question I've been wondering

In past I have never really thought far ahead with my life. I don't really plan many things. I have been questioning why I am in school. I mean, I kinda just followed the norm for kids from my school.
So here I am in college, studying business, economics, and psychology. I study business because I'm good with numbers, and the other two because I find them interesting. But I don't get enjoyment from studying and learning from books like many of my friends and classmates do. I don't really care about my GPA like most do, but I get by fine in school still. Now I'm getting to the point in school where I need to look at "what's next," to "begin my career" and I am torn.
At this point in my life, I don't want to do the normal: get a (professional) job, work lots, maybe have a family...etc. sort of thing that it seems like everyone surrounding me plans on. I want to experience people and cultures, share ideas and worldviews, change and be changed.
I don't really know what else to say. I'm already in debt from going to school, and I feel like I need to finish my schooling (I think it's better for paying off loans, too) but have no idea where I'm going with everything. I've thrown around the idea of working at a hostel with a friend post-graduation; I enjoy giving and helping people. But then I have the fun loans that need to be paid.

I don't really expect any responses, I'm just writing and putting off a paper due tomorrow.

I have a reassuring feeling that things will work out, though. That's all I got right now. Good night.

Dude, I am in the exact same boat. I want to learn by DOING...I like reading about the stuff, just because I like learning but it can get to be really drab, especially the way these things are taught in lectures. I know that I need my degree to pursue my future career but it is sooooo difficult to get there.
That's why I've decided to take a year off and actually do some of the stuff I want to do when I get out of school (conservation wildlife). It was the toughest decision of my life (especially since during this planning of my new life I also decided to sell my horse- if I'm traveling the world, it's just not fair to him) but hopefully by the end of my travels I'll have a better idea of where I want to go with my career and more incentive to stay in school and learn so that I can do it and apply for the vet program somewhere.
Good luck to you, whatever you decide!
