For this week's question some may not have an answer, and that is fine. Just tell me what comes to your mind.

How would you describe Christ (Jesus)?

Thanks again.

That is DIFFICULT!

He's God's son, but at the same time he IS God. He came to save us and guide us the right way, and for this He gave his life. Throughout He's stay here he's preached and taught us the way that God wants us to live our lives through examples. His life was an example or should be an example for all of us.

I feel terrible that I can't describe him any other way. That is a great question though... I'll consult it with my pillow.

From what I understand he was an architect previous to his career being a prophet. Jesus built my car. Its a love affair. Mainly me and Jesus.

Fuck it.

To me, he was a man with insight. Hostestly, half the priests and wannabe profits of todays time, if given the right situation, and being put in the past, could of gained the same recognition as Jesus. He's a man who stars in a great book. THAT WAS WRITTEN BY OTHER MEN OVER CENTURIES OF STORIES AND RUMORS.

That is the question the people have been trying to answer for 2,000 years.

I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is the 2nd Person of the Divine Trinity. He is fully man and fully God. Conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, begotten in his humanity, but unbegotten in his divinity. Born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, and was burried, was raised from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. He will come agin to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end.

An interesting historical figure, but no more mystical or god-like than any other man. Certainly a gifted orator, philosopher and leader. Someone who's philosophical teachings have had a significant impact on human history for the past 2,000+ years.

I don't know, if you believe in the ten commandments then believing Jesus is God is a sin.

He was a man that had he's words corrupted but I like he's teachings. It's hard for me to say for sure that he was convinced he was Gods right hand man he seemed much to humble. I think the church made him out to be a God to give their new movement legs, who'd want to follow some crack pot saying love thy neighbour and turn the other cheek.

Marc took my words. I think of Jesus as a character in a really famous novel. I think the idea of most of his messages are good, but the way they are interpreted in modern religion are severely flawed.

To me, Jesus is a figment of people's imaginations. A myth.

A reminder of where I came from and a possible hope for the future, should people figure out how he meant for them to really live.

It's a tough question for me to answer considering my current stand on faith, having just started walking away I mean...

I found this poem on the site losingmyreligion.com and I think it exemplifies some of my current feelings rather well.

I woke up to an empty room

No more angels watching over me.
No more demons to be held at bay
by the invocation of
an Anglicized version
of a Hellenized version
of a Hebrew name

I woke up to an empty room:

Just a room. Four walls, ceiling, floor.
Just a room. Nothing more.

I woke up to an empty room
and embraced the solid air.

I woke up to an empty room and knew myself

awake.

yeah I think that as travellers we tend to not judge as much based on people's skin colors, religious beliefs or any of the normal things. I find myself disdaining someone who travels but does it "wrong" At least according to my definition of it.... So basically I think that we are all deeper on one level but, at least for me, shallower on another level....

Anyway yeah. I know what you are saying BigE. I am trying to stay away from titles or definitions right now. I don't want to be termed christian but I also dont want to be agnostic or atheist or anything else.

I think bigotry is stupid anyway. We are all on the same planet and not for very long. You get old and die very quickly. Perhaps it is better to buy someone a drink.

I don't tend to label people. Several months ago I thought of myself as a neo-Augustinian and Balthasarian. But since then, I have been having a hard time defining what love is. If love (agape, caritas, eros)is at the heart of Christianity, why do I never feel love? Where is it? Why do I still feel lonely?
