i know that compared to you two i really have nothing to complain about... but i leave in two and a half months and its killing me!
i can't think about anything else...its so hard to concentrate at school when all i can think about is travelling...
instead of doing schoolwork i'm always checking the boards, or staring at a map or reading my lonely planet!

(i'm sure if i wasn't to lazy i could seach the forums, cd yours is middle east i got that!) . I'm excited but I have to admit a teeny teeny part of me is dreading going because I have to say goodbye to everyone (going for a year). And I hate saying goodbye. Get the kleenex out now! fedfe i hear ya I read my lonely planet eveyday..Yesterday I missed my bus stop cuz I was deep in concentration reading the book.

ARGHHHH, YES!

I go next month, and all of my travel stuff is already bought and piled up neatly right here next to me. All I would have to do is put it in my bag and walk out the door, it's KILLING me! I have 6 days of work left, then I'm going home to visit family-- hoping to use it as a dress rehearsal-- will take all my stuff in my pack, and see what I forget, what I wished I had, etc.

38 more days...

Everyone seems to much more planned out than i am.. I'm only planning my fiji portion of the trip and then i will land in oz april 28th with absolutely NO plan.. haha i love it. people keep asking me what i;m gonna do i;m like I don't know i'll see when i get there! i already have a backpack so i don't need one. i have my plane ticket and visa...so all i gotta do is just buy a few more clothes and that's it.. will prob do that the week before i leave haha..

Tha's my girl.

You and I area leaving at roughly the same time, and from the same continent, but headed in opposite directions. Ah well.

Ya wanna talk about over-preparedness, I bought sunblock in the rain today. The Drug Store folks looked at me like I was NUTS. I'm with you on the itinerary thing, tough. I only have the first two weeks planned out, and even then, only because I will have someone visiting me. Then it's me, my car, and the open road.

yah dammit i think you should change your destination and visit oz instead and then we can meet up and you could rent a car and drive me around everywhere! perfect plan. besides I think then we could win some money or something, by being the first two punkers that have met. How long are u going for again? Yeah when u announce that your leaving I think that's when I know it's gonna hit me cuz I know i'm right behind you in the leaving category! yah i guess i should start buying stuff. i'm just so lazy and I hate the fact that I have to spend lots of money before i even leave the country!

Gone for four and a half months... I think I'm gonna do Australia next, though-- I haven't even left on this trip and I'm already planning the next! Oz sounds even more exotic because I've done Europe already, and done Asia, but never the south pacific-- I'm really jealous of you!

I'm with you on the spending money. I'm waiting for my tax return to come in, since it's money I absolutely MUST have to go. I went to check the status tonight and there's some sort of problem-- it's got me freaking out. I just know I'll never get to sleep tonight... hopefully it's nothing serious and it will come in in plenty of time. We will see...

I leave for London in May... and I honestly think that finishing this year of school is the hardest thing I'll ever have to do... I'm struggling to do the work to keep my grades up, I keep getting distracted by heaps of travel searching.. out of excitement of course... spending HOURS on TP reading everyone's stories and such... it's just too exciting... I'm trying not to let University take a backseat, but I dunno... pretty hard.

21 Days before departure for 2 and a half years of Peace Corps service.

I should be on the ground in Casablanca March 6th. From there it's on to Rabat and then Tenant to begin my training.

Trying to get all my affairs in order and say goodbye to all my friends.

At least I've got a decent jacket and hiking boots now. Trying to decide if I'm going to invest in a big pack or stick to my rucksack.

I leave for europe in... 41 days-- holy crap. While I'm completely anxious and want to go tomorrow, on the other hand I'm thinking "shit, I don't have much time to get more money together! aaaah!" I wish I had started saving sooner. The good thing is that my granny might help me with my railpass.
