Unhappy

now i'm suddenly dying to get out of the country again - this time i'll be alone though, and i'm aiming for february (am i crazy, yes). the cheapest flights i can find are to w. europe (or else i would go chill in bali again), what do ya'll think?

i can only go for a week (since i just had 3 off!) and i figure with airfare and all, the trip will cost $1500 (i'm not sleeping in a hostel, sorry). is that just stupid to spend so much for only one week, or shit, if i can save that in two months, why not?

i'm considering 4 options:

a) cinque terre for 5 nights

2) lake como for 5 nights

i mean, it will be cold as hell, probably anywhere i go - nothing a bailey's and coffee can't fix.

is it worth it or should i wait until later?

hahah! Yeah, my mom is scared to go anywhere not french because she doesn't really speak english...French from France can get pretty scary, but I think it's because they just speak loud all the time!! Anyone wants to visit France and need a translator?! :D

Joan, if you have the money and really feel like it, then I think it's worth it!

In my opinion, every trip is worth it. As long as you have the cash and the time baby. That's all that matters. :D

You should be able to get a cheap ticket for travel in that time frame. Wait till after Christmas, I say. January is the START of the discount airfare season, so don't box yourself in...

I agree with Sij, every trip is worth it(especially out of the country)! five days in Cinque Terre would blow away a week in anytown USA...IMHO.

Good luck and let us know what you decide to do :greenguy: !

uh, yeah... reality check - i don't have the money for another trip yet!

i guess it'll be september again before i cross the big pond... now i can just take my time and save the $4,000 i'll need to max and relax... but sad to say... another 7 months until i hit the road again.

ah, to be WWM, travelling all the year through...how many times can we say it? YOU LUCKY DOG!
(someone please tell me i'm not the only one taking just one overseas trip per year!)

If it makes you feel any better Joan, I still have 18 months before my first overseas trip. But I can endure the pain.

"Bark! Bark!" The sound of a happy "lucky dog" who gets to travel more than once per year.

"Whine, whine!" The sound of the sad dog who doesn't get to take off FOR a year, like his TP buddies Atchoum and Dio.

So, anyway, March looks like my next trip. I'm leaning towards the Mediterranean, although I haven't even looked into the flights, yet. My top three choices: Cyprus, Malta, Croatia.

Anybody been there that can give me some tips?

Joan,
Yeah, I have to pay off my debts and save up the cash first. Damn me for getting so much debt . But my day will come and the excitement keeps me going.

better to have debt than go bankrupt...that's what i did.
i can save about $650 per month because i don't have any bills, but... i would rather pay bills and have good credit ...

Well my credit stinks too. From my days when I was younger and would be between jobs and couldn't pay my bills. I had a Credit Card that was a total bunch of thieving fools. They would screw you any chance they could.

yeah, i was in the same boat, basically...
after i let my credit degenerate beyond repair (literally)...i decided for bankruptcy.

i figured, the next seven years of my credit life are fucked... why not make it ten?!
