I'll continue to stockpile various armaments in preparation for the undead. Currently I'm trying to determine the blast field of a series of M-18 Claymore mines for just that sort of situation. Just remember: Front towards enemy, and pull string, go boom!

Numbers that's what you are so scared about! personally you guys are just being paranoid for something that will hapen now or later, what's the diff between this and that? that this may kill many people and that that is only gonna kill you. If it comes it comes and there is nothing to do about it, only thing I can assure you is that if the tsunami doesn't kill you the bus behind it will and if not the air around you will, death comes so don't think about it that much it's something certain, you are better off thinking about living, that is something you have no clue when it's gonna be gone.

Should we add a new one to the list? Between global warming, bird flu, terrorism and Voyd keeping people freaked out?

...some things never change.

What a bummer, though. We sold a house in the Mojave desert, about 40 km east of the San Andreas fault. I kept hoping for "the big one", so I wouldn't have to drive all day to the beach, but it never materialized. If only we'd waited a couple more years...

And now Pat tells us that the house we just bought in the PNW is going to be swept away in a tsunami...man, we just can't win. What does he have against me, anyway? Wait, wasn't he the imbecile that said Sharon's stroke was a punishment from God?

Oi, Voyd, it's your sources again. They're killing me.

Thumbs up

^ Hey, at the very least, I'm entertaining. And at the very best - educational.

Anyhow, just to add a little more smoke to this fire:
Quote:
Where It Began –

In August 1999, several reports came to light of a contracted worker from Nasa found in a cave in the Caldwell, Ohio area.

Apparently, fleeing a coming asteroid or comet that was to hit the North Atlantic, sometime within the next 9 years; he had set up camp in a cave in the Wolf Run State Park, by Wolf Run Lake.

(This is the story he gave officials, but not what he gave to those who questioned him later. It was also not the story given by his new wife after his death.)

Residents in the area were concerned, and contacted the nearby sheriff’s department; subsequently, he was arrested, kept over nite; with his late model Saturn being thoroughly searched. It was confirmed by his identification, that he was a computer programmer for Nasa.

The following morning was sent on his way, and returned to Florida to his job and family. The family, apparently, had not wanted to go with him.

A science website had done an article on the Nasa Caveman, and later interviewed him at his job at Nasa.

When interviewed, he appeared scattered, nervous and evasive.

He said he believed in the asteroid account, but got it through some kind of mystical message.

He said he would have more information; which he would share with the website at a later date.

Nasa was invited to respond to the article, apparently, which, to my knowledge, was never done.

A while ago, I got interested in this story after reading about it on the internet.

After finding that a reader had submitted info. about the death of the Nasa Caveman on the website "CyberspaceOrbit," I then contacted the officiating funeral home which was in the obituary in a newspaper.

They confirmed they handled the funeral on April 15th 2000.

They confirmed in a second email, that his legal name was as quoted in the Obituary.

The Obituary was recorded in three Florida newspapers.

These were all relayed together on a well-known, Family History site.

I then emailed officials at three departments of Nasa and received no replies to my questions about this man.

One official told me that she was not ‘familiar with the gentleman’ or had any information about him, and didn’t know who else to refer me to.

Apparently, there are a number with the same surname, working at the company, but she knew none of them.

After doing research through numerous public records sites, I found more detail on the Nasa Caveman.

I found out that he was going through a divorce with his first wife and had three children with her.

That it was a bitter divorce, and just as bitterly contested.

Our Nasa Caveman met a woman on the internet from Africa and went to see her.

Coincidentally, I was born in Africa and had relatives in the same town that the woman was from.

My relatives have since moved to England.

The woman was divorced and had two children of her own.

He brought both her, her ex-husband, who she still was friendly with, and the children, back with him to his home in the States.

They had some problems getting married, due to the previous divorce settlement, but it was properly finalized three days before his death on April 15th, 2000.

A Temporary Injunction for Protection was filed in Dec. 99, by the former wife, apparently, due to the Nasa Caveman’s possession of guns.

The protection order was denied by the Courts.

The Nasa Caveman never violated the injunction.

He had placed his guns in safe keeping during the time of the divorce proceedings.

Three days after the marriage licence went through, the Nasa Caveman was dead.

Apparently, a missing person’s report was filed by the new wife, a day before his death.

The following morning, being April 15th, 2000, someone heard shots fired in the Ocala State National Park.

Upon finding the Plymouth Laser vehicle, the officers checked it, finding a gun case, ammunition, and personal papers in the unlocked car.

Not finding anyone in the vehicle, one of the officers walked up the firebreak trail about 150 feet.

He came upon the body of the Nasa Caveman, lying on his back, with gunshot wounds to his head and chest.

Two handguns were found near the body.

It was ruled a suicide.

If his death was truly a suicide, we still have a problem here...was it really due to problems in his personal life, or was it due to the unintended disclosure of a coming asteroid or comet, back in 99? So, whether it was a murder or a suicide, we still have a story of a man who worked for Nasa found in a Cave in Ohio, and less than 8 months later, was found dead in a State Park in Florida.

This is a man who was so survival-oriented, that he packed up survival food and gear, and headed to Ohio, because he said that a comet or asteroid was coming and would hit the Atlantic within the next nine years.

This is a man who, after a 23 yr. marriage and subsequent divorce, had flown to Africa to meet a new woman, bring her with him back to America, and marry her, starting a new life for himself.

This is a man that had just finalized his marriage licence to his new wife, three days prior to his death.

This does not sound like a man wanting to do away with himself.

Granted, he had some depression due to his previous marriage, but he was still working.

He was still a functioning individual.

On August 18th, 1999, the Nasa Caveman was interviewed by telephone on Coast to Coast Am with Art Bell.

It was the strangest of programs and he seemed to be just as evasive on air as he had been when interviewed elsewhere.

He also went on a verbal diversion, talking about the Cassini mission.

Apparently, from remarks made by his new wife, he had some problems at work, the night before his death.

There was also a substantial life insurance policy.

It is up to the reader to come to your conclusion about what really happened to the Nasa Caveman.

I still believe that there is more to this asteroid story than what meets our eyes here.

The maximum date that he had given on the arrival of the said comet or asteroid was nine years from the year 1999.

That brings us to 2008 : we shall soon see whether or not it was an asteroid, a comet or just "marriage problems."

How many people would drive hundreds of miles to live in a cave, leaving a new family, unless there was a very good reason for it? - depression, not being one of them.

So, somewhere between today and 2008 - will an asteroid hit us?

Possibly someone who read too many conspiracy websites?

Anyway, what difference does it make if you get wiped out in a massive collision with a comet or trampled by a zebra or drown in a river or get hit by a bus? Truth is, none of us knows when our number is up, so we can either panic about all sorts of random and highly unlikely threats of alien abductions or planetary collisions or massive natural disasters, and work out all sorts of complex theories about why the GOVERNMENT is out to destroy us all, or we can hide under our beds and refuse to go out, and die of a spider bite or slip in the bathtub, or we can go about our normal, everyday lives, taking pleasure in the mundane and ordinary, as well as the extraordinary that crosses our path, and make the most of whatever time we have here.

^ Well, I think one of the problems with us as a society is getting so self-absorbed in our comfortable lives of convenience...that we forget about all the global impact such lifestyles ultimately have caused. In reality though, you cannot separate the 2.

Like i've said before when blowing the whistle you gotta blow hard else no one hears it.

I for one voyd appreciate the outta-this-world ideas you bring to the table. While I might not believe all of them I can see many of them being true. The problem then lies in how to change such things. Are we forever doomed to be controled by powers greater than those that we peons possess?

I find it interesting. The only conspiracy sites I've ever read were about the JFK assination, okay maybe a few more .

But if you get so caught up in worrying about what may happen then you don't live your life. You spend everyday worrying about accomplishing all your goals by the time the Mayan calender ends or before the horsemen arrive.

Sure it's interesting but when has talking about comets gotten anyone laid? I mean this Caveman dude had to go to Africa to get laid!! Granted he did get to travel, perhaps a big game safari.

Hmm, I don't know that I'd consider "normal and everyday" by definition "comfortable" or "convenient". But I don't entirely disagree with you, oddly enough.

To me, "making the most" of the time we have is totally wrapped up in a commitment to taking care of our planet and all the people living on it. This is essentially an optimist's outlook: my concern for the planet that my children and grandchildren will inhabit, is based on the assumption that the planet will still be here, not get wiped out by floods or comets or whatever.

By the logic of the people who predict the end of the world as we know it, it really shouldn't matter if we pollute and cut down forests and smoke and use up all the fossil fuels and kill innocent creatures because the sky is falling and we're all gonna die, painfully and soon, anyway.
