I read the police are really strict and patrol the beach all night.
So people, seriously, is it worth it? I've heard upwards of 40-50 euro to get into a club, and 50 euro for the ferry, and who even knows about sleeping, etc. etc.....damn, that's a lot of money for a party!

no u cant sleep on the beach, illegal...
but seriuosly if u get here at right time and are willing to spend that much, then go 4 it...
for a week in july or aug (when its absolutely packed) youre looking at 700-1000 euro for accomdation, alcohol, entry, etc bascially everything! its alot so probably the best thing to do is look for a job (what im trying to do right now!) which usually includes accommodation, free passes to certain clubs and of course money!! pay isnt much, only around 700-800 euro a month...

Thats too bad, I wanted to check it out and mingle with some Eurotrash but it sounds way too expensive.

I dunno...call me boring, cultural guy, but I can think of a heck of a lot of things I'd rather see in Spain -- let alone the rest of Europe -- for the cash it sounds like you'd drop in Ibizia. Besides, you guys want a party in Spain. Just go to Madrid! Those crazy dudes stay out and party till long past the sunup.
It's the "tapas" thing...at least that's my theory. If you haven't heard of it, Spaniards are crazy about tapas, which are basically just bar appetizers. You often get a tiny little plate of these munchies when you order a drink. So, Spaniards like to do "tapas" for dinner. Which is where my theory comes in. To actually fill up, they have to buy so many drinks (for their "free" tapas), that they end up staying out till 7 am the next morning. One massive bar tab later and they have a free dinner.
Guess they have fun doing it, though. So, skip Ibizia, and go to Madrid and all the other Spanish cities that have cool stuff to see, and party with the locals there. Forget the vacationing hordes on Daytona Beach, Espana Edition...

If you're looking for beautiful beaches go to other beautiful ones in the South, cheaper too. If you want to party, go to Barcelona!
