Though the weather is generally pretty pathetic in November, it's actually not a bad time to travel because you'll avoid the big crowds, all the "cultural" seasons are in full swing, and life has returned to normal so you'll see real live locals leading their real live lives.
If you have any idea where you might want to go, we might be able to give you more specific info ie, if you're planning to go to Greece, you won't pack the same as for Norway...
Do you have any particular interests? Art? Music? History? Some sites do close or operate on reduced hours, so that's worth knowing, if your life's dream is to visit some particular place! Also, some hostels and budget accommodations, as well as some transport services do either shut down entirely or go on strictly reduced schedules, so it pays to know that in advance, too. We had the dickens of a time finding budget accommodations in Greece in March, because most places we looked at closed down until April...
But on the other hand, if you're planning to head to a larger city and hit the museums and cultural/historic sights, November is a GREAT time to be indoors. Absolutely no guilt about wasting a beautiful sunny day in a museum, 'cause there just aren't any sunny days...
So, give us some idea of what you're interested in, where you maybe possibly might like to go, and we'll bombard you with the collected wisdom of 5000 obsessive travelers.
