So I'm an Aussie just moved to London, I'm looking for a cool place to live that has lots of youngish/party animal/backpacker type people.
Can anyone recomend any suburbs for me? Preferably near the tube.....
Any help would be hugely appreciated!! Cheers!!

The only suburb-type place I'm familiar with in London is Golder's Green. But there aren't a lot of backpackers there, lol. Nope, it's mostly Jews.
If you're looking to hang around a lot of other backpackers, just live at The Generator hostel in the Bloomsbury/Russell Square neighborhood in central London. It's a less than 5-minute walk to the Russell Square tube station (Piccadilly Line). You could probably get a job there in exchange for your bed and maybe a little spending cash.

Cool James, what are you doing in London? As for hip suburbs, Shepherds BUsh is Aussie central in London, youll feel right at home there. Cheap accomodation and not too far from central London. If you want to take the easier route and live at a hostel for a while do as SV says at live at the Generator, it caters nicely to long termers.

^That's funny shit. Thai vs Tie. I was think 'Tie Green?' What shade of green is that?? Fish in the Thai makes a lot more sense too (but really, the Brits have some wacky names...).

the restaurant though, "fish in the tie" has very little thai/tie food i would recommend it to anyone though.
