Hello,
During the first week of Jan 06 I will be going to London....however I am going with my mom and her friend (hopefully they will pay for a lot haha)...I was wondering what there is to do there, where I could meet people that are not 43 year old women...I, of course, will not want to spend my entire time with my dear old mother (she might have a problem with the 'old' description...) I know we will be staying in the bloomsbury(?) section near the british museum so if anyone knows of something fun to do there I would love to hear it!
Thanks

Oh my, it's LONDON! There's tons to do....go shopping in covent gardens, see picadilly square...there was this big club that i went to which I was told was the "it" club but I sort of forget the name hehe...I know it started w/ an f & was short...like fringe? fresh? can anyone help me out here? I dunno, I just enjoyed riding the subway and going somewhere random & seeing what it was like. As for meeting people...I tended to meet most people @ hostels or on bus/subway rides, as long as your somewhat outgoing & friendly, I'm sure you'll find it easier than you think. Good luck! You'll have a blast, I love london's vibe

I always tell people going to London that they have to go to at least one show, regardless of if they're normally theater goers or not. They are.....incredible. In my opinion, the theater there puts Broadway to shame.

Check out the half price ticket booth in Leicester Square. It's fairly affordable if you go that route.

Pfft, and how many Broadway shows have you been to?
If you're making your comments directly solely at theatre, and not musical theatre, then I'll accept that...but when you include musicals, I think Broadway is undisputed - though London & Toronto are right up there as well.

I did mean more theater though I still like London better in general!

Maybe it's just b/c it's London though, which, being an American, always seems more exciting to me than NYC.

Consider taking a day trip to a nearby city such as Bath (amazing, and Stonehenge is right nearby).

What kind of stuff are you usually into doing? Do you like art? History? Sports? I'm living in London at the moment, and could likely have some decent suggestions for you.

Hey,
I am interested in art (I am a fan of Dali so I might have to check out the museum, Dali Universe or something...). I like history to a certain extent. I am looking forward to going to markets and any odd shops. I'm not the biggest sports fan...heh. I do plan on going to some pubs and restaurants (know of any good ones?)...
Thanks a lot,
Meghan
