Does anyone really recommend going to Portugal? I've heard that I should skip it then I heard that if I skip it I'll be dragged into the street and shot ....so what's the real deal?
P.S. I've just discovered my funds are a bit low so it needs to be really worth it to get my butt on a bus and get there.

Theres not a whole lot in Portugal that you cant also do or see in Spain, so it might not be worth it if you are going to see coastal Spain at all. If you do go to Portugal, go to Lagos - its a cool town. And skip Lisbon, there wasnt much there.

I loved Portugal, as well. Check out my travelogue on the link below, and see if anything catches your eye. The culture there is noticeably different from Spain, IMO. You can see the historic British influences, by the "lining up" rather than the mob scene to get in doors, etc...
