how was it, and what are the hot spots? thinking about skipping an extra day in a-dam for a few days there

My recomendation would be to not go to Bruxelles. It is the economic capital of europe but I found there to be little to do culturally. Plus as far as I am concerned Amsterdam is one of the best places on earth. ;)

brugge is far more beautiful then brussels. it is alot smaller, but perfect if your only going to be spending 1 day.

That is 2 days of my trip this year that I will never get back. That place is culturally dull and nothing very impressive. Amsterdam is WAY better even if you take away the drugs and RLD. Take my word for it.

I went to Brussels a few years back, and I agree, there wasn't a whole lot to do. I mainly went there to check out the nearby battlefield of Waterloo. I had free passes and figured what the heck?

well, while most of my trip will center around drinking and rampant drug use, i thought i would like to explore other things (like Waterloo).... and everybody keeps telling me that the beer there is the best in Europe

what about antwerp??? port cities are usiually pretty cool.

I was in Brussels for about 2 days this past may... I enjoyed it mainly because we used it as a place to rest... we had an AMAZING time in our hostel though... it was CHAB Vincent Van Gogh... highly recommeneded... there isnt too much to do in the actually city though...
